Stay far away. Place js disgusting. And no one willing to repair or be helpful. Sewerage water leaking into rooms. Changed twice and same issue repeatedly. Refused to refund even though i left 3 days earlier due to the hygeine issues. Definitely not 4 star and how they can charge those prices is madness.
It is hard to say what was worst: the aircon (after repair) made 58 decibel of noice. This mean you can’t have an ordinary conversation in the room. The elevator with doors mooving on your way to the 12th floor. Or the frontdesks sourness when you tried to change room. Or the lack of cleanliness in our room. Broken tiles in bathroom... The fact that We had no water one late evening, and that our keycard never worked are bagatelles.
I didn`t have any problem, but I agree that the hotel is outdated and they charge as a 4 stars hotel when in reality they are not even close to 2 stars. Location - Great location, close to subway, major supermarkets, restaurants, bars and of course the beach. Breakfast - It`s decent, but it is repetitive and they offer poor service. Every morning the tables were missing sugar and napkins. The food also didn`t have labels, which was a bit challenging to know what they were serving. In two different occasions, I found broken glasses, I told the waitress, but I got the feeling that he just put it back there. Pool - very small, but it offers a beautiful view. Room - The room was clean but outdated. The A/C is old but it works fine. The TV had some connection problem, but I didn`t spend too much time in my room, so it wasn`t a problem for me. During two days the room service didn`t show up so I had to call them, and late at night, someone showed up to clean my room and change towels and bring toiletries. Check-in - Since I can speak Portuguese it wasn`t a problem. It was fast, easy and they were friendly. During check-out, it took some time because there were more people and a couple was bothering them about some stupid request they couldn`t help. Language - I noticed they speak Spanish very well, and I didn`t see any English speaker guest there, so I cannot say. Bed - They can do better! Same review to the pillows. Fitness center - It was closed, and as some reviews says seems like it has been closed for months now. Sauna - I didn`t use it. Elevators - They are slow and seem old. Safe - They charge R$5.00 per day to have a safe in your room, which is ridiculous. Wifi - It worked well for the most part of the time. No need to pay any additional charge. Guests - The crowd here is diverse. The only complaint I have is that some people in the pool had the music really loudly, which was annoying and the management could have done something about it. Overall - Since they charge basically the same price as other hotels in the area I wouldn`t recommend them to anyone. The building is old, the rooms are old and in need of an update, the breakfast and service should be better. For the same price, I could have stayed in a better hotel (real 4 STARS) in the same area.…
Ive never slept so comfortable in a hotel. Staff great. Breakfast medium. And its a shame that the swimming pool area opens only at 10am and when I arrived there the sound was too loud. The pool wasnt clean and besides that is too small. BUT it worth a lot by the price to stay there when u sleep so well !!! Bedrooms clean and good service.

The only reason for running this hotel is sucking money out of tourists No cleaning Ac from the seventies Elevators not maintained warning !!!! We got wrong room and came to an occupied room Pool dirty like ... Huge bulding with very nice structure and design.very beautiful place with nice location.the mountain view was awesome.i came with my friends and I enjoyed my vacation very well.the pool was brilliant and liked most and sitting was appreciate and looking too much of beautiful.good & keep it up all.
We were allocated room 211. There was nothing right with the room. Air-conditioning was virtually falling out of the wall and did not look safe at all. Tv would not work with the remote control. Could not get hot water in the shower. The room was located on the second floor. The balcony was separated from the building next door by a wall that looked very easy to be climbed over and the balcony door would not close as the catch was broken, so we did not feel that it was totally safe to leave our belongings in the room without been able to lock the balcony door. We asked the reception for extra pillows and a second door key. These were refused with the explanation that the hotel policy was to issue only one key per room and to supply only one pillow per guest. We reported all the problems to the reception staff who were not helpful at all. We asked to speak to the manager and were kept waiting for him at the reception for one hour and 20 minutes. The manager walked past us a few times but did not come to talk to us. Reception staff had the most horrendous attitude. Very dismissive and argumentative. The lack of customer service skills or training was obvious. The most customer focused staff in the whole hotel were the bell hops, who were the only ones with a friendly smile. When eventually we managed to speak to the manager and demanded a room change, we were given a room marginally better, however the clear signs of poor maintenance in the whole building were also evident there. There was a leak in the bathroom that flooded the bathroom floor every time we took a shower, the washing basin was a bit blocked and the water would not drain easily, the toilet seat was badly stained and looked discusting. Getting access to our room after having been out, was a drama in itself. The electronic key card would not work properly and had to be re-programmed every time we left the room. Breakfast was another disappointment. There were always some food items missing, including pretty basic things like butter and milk. All in all, our experience staying in this hotel was very frustrating. The hotel is terrible in every way. Maintenance is terrible, staff are terrible. The most disappoint element is to read similar review from another guest from a year ago and realise that nothing has been done since. I wish the owners and management would act on the very bad reviews written by previous guests. I have worked in the travel industry for a number of years and have travelled extensively, I can safely say that this is the worst 4 stars hotel I have ever stayed and recommend anyone to stay well clear. On a good note, perhaps I should say that after our complaint the manager did demonstrate some interest in us and tried to make our stay a bit more pleasant. …
Despite all the poor ratings, I still went ahead and booked the hotel. I agree the service/reception was not the most friendly however, my requirements were met in that the room was clean, and the location was convenient. Spent three nights here and it is located close to the metro, beach and busses. The hotel was not helpful in providing a map or much information on how to navigate our way, but it didn't take us long to figure it out. I thought for a short stay, it was a good location and comfortable enough.
Unfortunately, the conditions of ROYALTY COPACABANA HOTEL do not match what is stated on the website. This is not a 4 star hotel, as it has no services for this rating. Wrong photos and no structure ... this is a 3 star hotel as it is commonly found on Booking.com. Problems occurred: 1) I requested full bed at the reservation and was not attended to at the hotel. They claimed to be the policy of the hotel not offering full bed for only 1 guest and so I was accommodated WITHOUT POSSIBILITY TO EXCHANGE in a room with two twin beds (even though there was no other guest) 2) Lack of clarity regarding the costs of hosting. There is a 15% charge charged by the hotel (much higher than the bill) and it should be charged at check in and charged to the credit card without prior authorization. Also, during the booking it was not clear that there would be extra charges (I discovered by the card's invoice). 3) The check-in time of the hotel is atypical (3pm). I kindly requested an early check in given the atypical situation and they were also irreducible. 4) Extremely coarse employees and without any willingness to assist the guest. 5) Bathroom very dirty and moldy. Shower dirty and not working properly. 6) Dirty room floor (shoes are required)…
This is the noisier hotel I've stayed ever. The Manager targeted me for an old and rusty shower that broken on my hands when I'm trying to adjust the water flux on a stuck valve. There is no adequate replacement of breakfast items and waiters are to busy. There is too much noise during the night. Staff ring phones each per each floor early morning to force people get out the rooms to keep their cleaning and services agenda. I don't recommend the hotel anyway. The elevators have problems. It's inflated stars.
