I looked for a while to find a nice Hotel close to the beach at a reasonable price. This hotel was off a side street and was surprisingly quiet. However, we were still very close to shops and restaurants. Buffet breakfast was very good, rooms very clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were strangely huge, while bedrooms were a bit small. Great...

First: there is virtually hotel in Copacabana for which you would pay a value that is proportional to the actual quality of the hotel. But this is the overrated Rio de Janeiro and there is nothing we can do. This said, I can say that Copacabana Sol has everything you need, including good location, cleanness and, above all, extremely helpful,...

Room was supposed to be 'de luxe'. For $200 a night I expected better. Twin beds were very narrow. There was a residual smell of smoke. Bathroom was too small to turn round in, nowhere to hang towels. Breakfast room was like a bomb-site. I had to clear and wipe a table for myself, there was almost no buffet left...

I stayed here in mid January. Pros- Good location nice rooms friendly staff decent breakfast Cons- Loud air con (but has aircon!) Stayed on a last minute trip to Rio without reservations, so can't complain about the high price which is normal for Rio. This is a basic hotel typical in Brasil without any frills. Good morning breakfast, friendly staff, clean...so I give 4 stars. They lost a 5th star because the clerk tried to add the booking.com fee onto my "final"...

With all the countless advices and warnings over the internet about the safety in Rio, we felt safe in Copacabana Sol Hotel as it is always busy with tourists and somewhat in the neighborhood of the upper middle class cariocas. There were police stationed in every corner which made you feel even safer. Good location also as it is near...

Rio is a surprisingly expensive city to stay in. We stayed in a place our first night that was pretty disgusting, and were looking to find a new place at the last minute. Sol is clean and well-run. The staff was friendly and spoke great English. We arrived very early and they kept our bags for us. The rooms are...

In this days when Rio is really overpriced and a room can cost you more than in Paris, this hotel is a true possibility if you like local architecture, nice mango and papaia breakfast and friendly staff. The hotel is located on a nice 'rua', 4 blocks from the beach and 2 from Nossa Senhora de Copacabana. In this area...

No complaints, but nothing really special to say either! Good location, ok rooms, clean, average service, and ok breakfast. A little overpriced for what it offers, but well within the expected range for hotels in that location. If you decide to go on any tours, don't hire through them because they take a considerable markup (as do most other hotels...

I stayed here for the week while at a conference. My suite was spacious, clean, the air conditioning worked well, and I enjoyed staying there. The hotel provided a very nice buffet breakfast, fruit, pastries, and cold meat/cheese. The hotel is three blocks from the beach, and close to commuter bus routes. I'd be happy to stay there again.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
