beach. Hotel looks good on first impression but on closer looking lobby is tired, sofas need cleaning. Rooms very very basic, covers so dated, doors shabby. There is strange sort of small lounge as you come in which doesn't serve any purpose. Curtains didn't meet, only two sockets worked. Air conditioning button seemed to have loose wires and you had to jiggle the switch about to get it working. The tv was a big old grey version (didn't think they were still used) only CNN channel. Breakfast not really good couldn't get a normal cup of tea. Not everyone likes flavoured. Asked for natural tea told didn't have any. Staff not very friendly asked if they could print boarding passes and told no system was done but clearly they were using it at the desk, concierge gentlemen were very nice. Just as well we only used it to sleep and shower but would not recommend this. Friends were in muc…
Rooms are adequate bedroom, sitting room, cleaned everyday Anything we needed from cleaner she provided, air con.not the greatest can be loud at times.happy with room. Difficult to get lift to work sometimes had to use the stairs from eleventh floor to reception.Pool small but useful to cool down. Breakfast okay, you can get your fill,if there is something you would like, fried eggs eg.just ask.they could do with a toaster. Hotel needs a makeover and a good cleaning. The best about this hotel is location,10 metres across road to metro,1/4 mile to beach, pubs and plenty of eating places nearby.
I will cut to the chase. So, the pros: - very close proximity to metro subway if you plan on using it. - competitive price that comes with decent breakfast (you will have to pay additional 10% tax on the rate you booked online though) - you can leave your luggage after you checked out without extra charge unlike its sister hotel Atlantico Prime in Centro which charges R$5.00 per luggage - has hot water Now the cons: - quite old hotel with signs of deterioration. See pics. - a/c unit is old window type that’s noisy. No remote. Ours didn’t even have cover! See pics. - No free coffee or tea or even water in room. - no microwave or electric water kettle. - towels seemed a bit dirty. - no toothbrush or toothpaste - no adaptor for electrical outlet for you to borrow. You have to buy one if you have different plugs, not the round ones used in Brazil. - elevator is old and slow. - Not beachfront. Have to walk a bit to the beach (about ten minutes) Hope that helps you make your decision. Oh, one more thing. I experienced slight discrimination by one big guy at reception (I’m asian). He kept ignoring me and attended to others who came after me. So I went to the cashier instead. …
We stayed at the hotel October 8-12 its what you pay for, the breakfast is awful, the wifi isnt the best at all. The front desk do speak ok english and helpful withe excursions. But hotel is just basic for the price and location is great. Room cleaned daily. You have to pay extra for the safe also 6 dollars a day. The gym has 2 treadmills and 2 bikes the pool is cold not heated. But for someone travelling and just looking for a place to crash is perfect. Definitely wouldnt take my family to this hotel.
Good location obviously for the beach but also Public Bus to Christ the redeemer 2 blocks away towards the Beach. ask at reception for directions & all. Just behind the Hotel a couple of locals bars with interesting people. Super breakfast..
Stayed at this hotel for the 3rd time because of convenience of location. Stayed 2009 during carnival, in 2012 and now 2019 during carnival. Unfortunately everything from quality of accommodation, cleanliness and service has deteriorated. Admittingly some of the staff at reception is very friendly and helpful, seemingly some senior staff retained since my first visit in 2009. Also, despite cost-value relation is still not too bad, the hotel urgently needs a revamp!!!!
1. Only one person in the building speaks English 2. The linen and rooms are not cleaned, the bedding is literally just put back on the bed and NOT replaced. 3. The lifts take approximately 5 mins to get to you and sometimes skip floors. 4. The room keys don't work and you have to get them replaced Everytime!! 5. The room safe does not work 6. Dishes in restaurant are dirty. I'm currently in the middle of a 2 week stay here and I'm 100% certain there are bed bugs here. When asking about a complaints procedure we were handed a suggestions form. There is leaked coke in our fridge since day 2, it is now day 7 and it still hasn't been cleaned. If hotels were made in hell, this would be the hotel they would have made! Choose a different hotel in the same area for similar price but much greater experience! …
I spent 2 nights with my family (wife + 2 sons). First of all they gave us a room with 3 beds instead of 4 but it was nothing compared this with the bad conditions we found it: dirt, dirt and dirt everywhere! Bed linen and towels not white but grey, with holes and stinking! The bath orrible because old and dirty...we also found out a spider inside the bathtub! The only good thing we faced in this hotel was the breakfast so, if you're travellers that likes clean and confortable hotel I suggest you to keep distance from this one.
At the beginning was not what I was expecting, but must tell that with the days the experience was changing my point of view. My wife is French, and was amazed with the concierge that was speaking in french to her every single time. We had a very nice Suite at the sixth floor. At the end of the trip we felt it like home. Only thing we gotta say is that we tried to put clothes for the laundry, but they never took them. Besides that, very nice place. Excellent cost-benefit ratio
This hotel was chosen for us by Iglu who were the agents for or cruise holiday around South America. We were very pleased with their choice of hotel. The hotel sits on the corner of a block facing Copacabana Beach. It is modern and clean with large rooms. Rooms at the front of the hotel would have a full beach view, ours faced the side street but was on the 7th floor so we did have quite a good view of a section of the beach. We dined in the hotel restaurant on both nights of our stay and the food was excellent and there was a good choice on the menu. The hotel has it own section on the beach where you can use the sun loungers and towels and sunshades.
