Old decor, useless service and overall crappy hotel. I stayed in a hostel not too far from here recently and it was way better. The staff don't really speak English and are not willing to help. We wanted to use a printer to print the tickets for one of the tours and they wouldn't allow us. Wifi here is also...

Really enjoyed this hotel. It's a short walk from the Copacabana, really convenient to be fair, and if that gets a bit crowded then there's a nice rooftop pool. The rooms are clean and spacious and very comfortable. They did an airport pick up for us and we found the staff to be really helpful in organising a city and...

We were traveling with Brazilian friends with high hopes for a quality experience (from American standards). The desk staff was sometimes friendly during our 4-night stay, but attentiveness and friendlines really depended on who was on duty. However, the bellmen were friendly and attentive with lots of recommendations and assistance finding our way; they seemed to be the ones to...

Stayed in this hotel for a week. Picked it as had to be near copacabana as going to a wedding. Good location 10 mins from beach. Hotel looks good on first impression but on closer looking lobby is tired, sofas need cleaning. Rooms very very basic, covers so dated, doors shabby. There is strange sort of small lounge as you...

I stayed here for three days. My friend booked it. The room is adequate in size and the people are nice. Ivan, a concierge, was exceptional. However, the hotel itself is not. The rooms were old, run down and in need of a face lift. Not sure how this gets a 4 star rating. I added photos. The air conditioner...

There are many extremely overpriced hotels in Rio with poor value, especially the closer they get to one of the beaches... but this one seems to be an exception - if you get your room rate right, it is actually an excellent value... it is hard to beat this deal even if you spend hours and hours searching various booking...

The Atlantico Copacabana advertises itself as a four star hotel, but it's a three star property by North American standards at best. I stayed in room 1202 near the top of the Atlantico for nearly three weeks during the Rio 2016 Olympics. Large room and bathroom, clean, but dated. The bed was comfortable, but the old school air conditioner was...

I really like this hotel. I've been to Rio two times and stayed here on both trips. The location could not be better. It is located in Apoador which is exactly in the middle of both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches (take your pick. You go in one direction and in less than 5 minutes you're right at Ipanema beach. Go...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
