#23 of 349 in Rio de Janeiro
Travellers' Choice
Soaking up the breeze, right bang smack on the sand, arms flung wide open to the Atlantic, this is JANEIRO. Located in the middle of Leblon’s marvellous beach-culture, we bring Rio’s bossa vibe to life. Nature is a joyful accomplice. And what about that view? The Cagarras islands scatter across a horizon blue as far as the eye can see. No make-believe needed here. At night, the Moon beams, and in the distance, the lights of Vidigal glitter and dance like fireflies. Pure poetry for the eyes, woven into the urban effervescence of the city. The barefoot simplicity of the beach finds its way into the smallest of details; from the rooms to the food, the music to the art, all is an extension of the golden sands out front. We sway to no other rhythm but Rio’s.

Filipe at Reception is Amazing! Good breakfast. Rooms ok (lots of kitchen smells inside the rooms, specially breakfast timings). Great views. Great location. Good restaurant vibe. Pity they don’t serve food/drinks at their beach area.

All was very good. The Ocean Front Suite is gorgeous. We had an incredible time. Service was great. The bar at the pool is incredible. Leblon and Ipanema views beautiful, as well as Cristo Redentor. We loved the details of the suite, all of great taste and well decorated.

Loved the location and the vibe. But in my experience, people make all the difference in making the brand succesful. I don't think you can find more hospitable staff who are anxious to make the customer experience second to none. The front desk, the bellmen, the food service people were beyond my expectation. Specifically Fabiola and Camillia ( I hope i spelled their names right) were so delightful in my view, they made the brand work!

Comfortable modern hotel. Large room and big bed. Breakfast included when booking direct and it had good variety. Nice bar on roof. Free bikes to take out. Beach 30 seconds walk. Friendly staff who helped extend my stay when I needed to stay longer. I’d be back.

Attention to the customers it’s good that can be improved. Besides I think the services is expensive and the value for money is not very good at your hotel. I expected the service at the reception to be nicer, especially that we are in Rio.thank you

Janeiro is an excellent hotel in an unparalleled location in Leblon, Rio. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful however the speed of the service when ordering food or drinks is too slow. The breakfast offered by the hotel is below expectations and I was unhappy to hear that throughout my 3 day stay no avocado was to be found… Regardless, I would highly recommend this hotel. It has a great location, beautiful rooftop pool, stunning rooms with ocean views, great amenities (both in the rooms and outside - such as chairs and parasols on the beach, rooftop bar/ lounge) and superb staff.

Had the best time at Janeiro hotel, I cannot say enough great things about it! From the welcoming and accommodating staff to the amazing room (top notch bed, products and bathroom) to the great food and best beach set up, Janeiro has it all. I had the best time here and loved everything about it, especially the location. Definitely recommend for both locals and tourists! Can’t wait to visit again!

If you are looking for a hotel in Rio de Janeiro, this is the hotel to book. Every member of the staff was there to make life easier and more luxurious. The two men on the beach took care of everything we could possibly need and then some. They even helped us communicate with the vendors on the beach when we wanted to buy something, and helped us when they were trying to charge too much because we were tourists. The location was also perfect where it was not chaotic, but just a short walk, or cheap Uber, to all the action.
