I stayed here for about three weeks ahead of the Olympics. The hotel is well-located, less than 10 minutes walk from Uruguiana metro station and with the new VLT tram running along the street nearby. It's convenient for Centro sights like the Candelaria cathedral and the Museum of Tomorrow. Rooms are clean and well-maintained if not especially roomy. The rooftop...

Stayed there during Olympics & it was excellently situated for the Tram, Metro & 10 mins walk from Centro station. Rooms clean, functional and a reasonable size. Front Desk staff were very helpful Buffet Breakfast is included and there's plenty of choice. Rooftop pool can be a bit chilly!

What a amazing stay I experienced at this hotel. It's right In the Citiy a great location next to everything. Roberto at the front desk made the day so much worth it. He deserves a raise. He even speaks great English. I would advise anyone to stay here if they can.

I usually use this hotel because every time I need to get some training in Rio, it is just a block from many places around including the School I go for offshore training. Rooms are well equipped, nice space and good bed sheets. There is a small pool over the last floor, space is good for reading a book. Negative...

Stayed here for one night. Quite a nice hotel, lovely food in the restaurant. Room was okay but it was only a single bedroom. Did find the bathroom quite small, you have to climb in the shower to be able to close the bathroom door, but otherwise okay. Hotel quite central in the business district.

The hotel was booked for me at short notice by my company. Usually I am accommodated closer to either Ipanema or Copacabana. So I am able to compare my stay against other similarly priced hotels in the city. The standard of room seems to be higher here than at others I have stayed at. So i guess there is a...

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night only as I was passing through. I found the room very comfortable and clean. T restaurant had very good food, and the service was impecable. The staff I found, would do anything for you, including one Bellboy, not too young, going for some messages for me. He understood I did not know...

Location downtown. Very convenient for my business purpose, however the entire neiborhood is deserted and closed and unsecured from Saturdays 1600hrs all troughout Sundays...nothing to do or go to on week-ends except going to zona Sul with cab, only working days animation! Concerning the hotel itself, very good deal (value for money) and nice staff. Special mention to Leonardo Jermann,...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
