I spent two nights in this hotel. The roof of my bathroom had a big leak, and the shower was extremely outdated. I don't know how people can spend $150+ in a hotel like this. The food during breakfast was average, nothing fancy. On the plus side, there is an incredible view to Ipanema and the Lake from the top...

To be fair, this is a review about Everest in Rio de Janeiro, but somehow represents many hotels in Leblon, Ipanema, Copacabana, and probably other neighborhoods in this city. Paying USD 170 per night creates the impression that you are entitled to nice room. Not true here. The room was OK, but old, with an old air conditioning system, an...

This is a tired hotel that solely depends on its location, 2 blocks from Ipanema beach. There are two types of rooms - renovated and old ones. Make sure to pay more to stay in a new one. The breakfast is bland and non-inventive, the staff uninterested, the overall attitude very indifferent. The roof top pool can't cater for so...

Huge disappointment when checking in this hotel and entering my room. The reception staff is for Brazilian standards very unfriendly. Parking of the car is done by drivers, who bring your car to somewhere some blocks away and is very expensive. My room was full of run- down old furniture. Breakfast was good. There are newer rooms, where one collegue...

The location is great and the staff was very good. I was disappointed in the condition of the hotel. At one time I could see that it was a very nice property, but they have not keep things up well. Simple things like replacing the shower head would make a huge improvement. There was also sand and hair in the...

Everest Hotel is located at the best point of Ipanema (150 meters of the beach). There're many restaurants and bars at walking distance. The neighbourhood is quite secure. There's a small swimming pool and few sun lougers at the rooftop. The rooms are complete but the whole hotel needs an urgent refurbishment. Beach service provides chairs, sunshades and towels.

The hotel is in a great location, just few minutes from Ipanema beach. Our breKfast was variable and delicious everyday and served in rooftop restaurant with amazing views to Rio. My room was quite nice and neat, but bathroom was a disaster..as if it hasn't been renovated for the last 20 years..aircon was very loud and the windows were so...

Although the hotel wasn't that expensive with about 600 Rias for two nights, it didn't convince me to recommend it. The aircon was very noisy and the bathroom needs immediate action. Location is good and breakfast ok, when you like fresh fruits.

Overall, the hotel appears to remain the same as on my last visit: good rooms (the renovated ones) and great location at a reasonable price. A solid four star hotel by Rio's admittedly loose standards. Upkeep is an issue, as there is already some noticeable aging and wear. However, the biggest difference is in the service: stressed out, grim, visibly...
