Fantastic hotel in arguably one of the best places you could stay in Rio, check in was smooth and all staff were very friendly in the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style and enjoyable. The view from the balcony was absolutely incredible. Room was also surprisingly quiet given how busy the area is outside. WiFi worked great but there was a LAN cable if you needed to work online in your room for any reason. Would happily stay here again should I return to Rio! Very close to a metro station and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Hotel also offers Sightseeing tours with an external company. Fantastic value for money considering the area and prices of nearby hotels.
Everything was amazing, the room, the location, the staff! The breakfast was delicious, the lobby is beautiful also! But in special, Ivan from the reception, he was very lovely and friendly! For sure I will return to this hotel!
The hotel is right on the beach, perfect spot, in particular if you can take one of their spectacular ocean view rooms. They are the best value for the money you can get. Wonderful atmosphere in the hotel with very nice and helpful staff.
Olinda Hotel is an excellent location for a visit to Rio. The room had a front window view of Copacabana beach. There are restaurants in walking distance. Staff is very helpful, especially when I needed help calling a car rental agency.
This hotel was great, beautiful lobby, great breakfast, they serve cappuccino through the day (a bonus for me), the beach is right across from the hotel, our hotel room was clean and spacious, can't comment on the wifi, because I only used it for sending texts (ie. didn't watch my usual YouTube or netflix shows while on vacay). Be careful you don't throw the toilet paper in the toilet though (sorry, TMI) but this is the case throughout almost all of Rio. The concierge, Marcello, was so courteous and kind, his english was impeccable, he provided excellent information, as I researched with him, museums/art galleries/city tours. Incidentally, while those working in the concierge speak english, it really is useful to learn a little Portuguese before you travel to Rio as no one other than those in the service industry speak english. Also, take ubers to get around, and don't be intimidated by scary safety warnings, just dress simply (ie. don't flash jewellery, etc.) , keep your phone in your closed bag/ purse when not in use, and wear your bag/ purse across your body when walking around- I strolled the beach, and the concourse walkway (by myself during the day and in early evening, with a few other ladies) and I was treated with the utmost of courtesy and respect by everyone I interacted with . …
Old fashioned looking hotel, but just on the Capocabana beach. Unfortunately the 'rooms with a view' have a much higher price, that doesn't worth for just an early morning look....the metro is 5 minutes walking .The breakfast buffet is a very good one and changes everyday, friendly staff and clean rooms...Just if your room is not a VIP one, the noise of the hundreds of air conditioners outside the window will compel you to keep it closed during the night....
My wife and I spent 9 days here. Our experience mirrors that of other travellers, the breakfast is excellent and so, without exception, are the staff. Yes, the room was a bit dated, but I regarded it more as "traditional" than "old". The small additional amount we paid to have a room with balcony overlooking the Copacabana was well worth the cost. Not manay Brits, decide for yourselves if this is good or bad!
Spend 4 nights, location was perfect, right on the beach, close to all the action, the breakfast was good, amazing fresh fruit. Staff was friendly and helpful, though the tours they offer were way over priced that ones you find on the streets. It could use a bit of updating..
Stayed for 7 nights. Good: Staff were amazing and helpful Breakfast had lots of options and mostly good taste Great location Had a balcony room, view was amazing Bad: Woefull WIFi!!! keeps loosing connection in all areas of the hotel. very slow when connected. Shower was a little more than a trickle Entire hotel needs updating even to a 3 start rating. Air condition unit in room is very noisy when on. For me the bad overwhelms the good so I would not return.
We stayed here for 5 nights in may in a room with balcony looking onto Copacabana beach. The staff were friendly throughout. Perfect location for seeing the sites. Metro station is about 10 minutes walk away and is easy way of getting about the city.
