This is a quiet modern hotel near Ipanema. For just under $50 including tax and a buffet breakfast I got a large room with a garden view on the 3rd floor. Staff was friendly and I was surprised that they had a bellman take my luggage to my room and explain how the safe and everything works. It’s only about a block from Ipanema beach and several blocks from Copacabana beach in a nice neighborhood. Horseback police are stationed on the corner so it’s a safe environment. The staff all speak good English and are very helpful at doing things like arranging COVID tests for my upcoming trip. It has a nice rooftop pool. The only negative was Wifi was very poor and kept cutting out on the 3rd floor, but lobby Internet was good.
Rude. Rude. Rude. Made my friend wait outside instead of in the room I paid 6 nights for. Used bad crime rate as excuse. He’s my friend! Manager does a poor job representing the hotel and should be retrained on customer service and using his best judgement.
Location and staff were great, very convenient as you are right in the edge of Copacabana and Ipanema. Very full breakfast buffet. We stayed in economy double room and it’s a match box room with view of a wall and AC equipment. The bathroom is really small, even for 1 person it's a challenge to turn around in it. You really feel very claustrophobic. We stayed over new year's eve days, they required a minimum 4 days stay and the price was just outrages for what you get.
You get a good amount for the price you pay with this hotel. The situation is great- between the beaches of Copacabana and Ipamena. A small supermarket and pharmacy nearby with The Hippie Market on a Sunday just a few blocks away in General Osorio square. Around this square there are numerous restaurants to eat. The bedrooms and bathrooms are basic but there is a fridge. We didn’t find the bar! As you walk in, the two male receptionists are on the left. They were helpful to us in arranging a taxi. The breakfast had 4 hot items - the best we found during our holiday, plus the usual range of fresh mixed fruit, ham, cheese, salami and cakes. The pool on the roof was a good way to cool down in the qfternoon but I did think that the water could have been cleaner. The overall impression of the hotel was that it needed a bit of money sending on it, eg. to repaint areas and to replace a broken glass topped table on the roof.…
I tend to agree with Hugoscott’s review. When the reception is approached with an inquiry the two gentlemen on the desk become loud, aggressive and obnoxious. It’s proximity to the coast line is great. The Metro is so close to the hotel how could you not go for a trip to the City. The fascinating mixture of old and new architecture is something to be experienced, not just the beach culture. Fascinating history, beautiful places to drop in and have a bite to eat or a meal. As we were strolling through the city there was a football match on TV. red and black jumpers of Flamingo v’s Dubai. We started our city travel when the score was 1 to 1. Then Flamingo scores 2 to 1 and the Main Street came alive with almost everyone jumping up and down with arms in the air. It was like we were at a football arena. Goodness, we were pulled in on the celebrations at each bar with a TV. Then we (The Flamingos) made another goal making it 3 to 1. Well!!!!! People went absolutely berserk like the player who shot the goal, people running through the streets and we got caught up in the celebrations. What an amazing experience, that was worth our travel from Australia to South America just to be there and feel the really Brazil culture. When one thinks of Brazil the next word is football. After knowing to ignore the reception you will enjoy it’s location. You will have more success with the lovely locals and people walking their dogs are really helpful with directions. A power adapter to suit the hotel can be bought down the street. They don’t give you a booklet with all the information you need to know when staying. Fortunately the housekeeping and doormen are all really professional. Breakfast service was very well executed, get a coffee down the road. Our next trip we will most definitely book a hotel in the Down Town Centro (cost effective) and commute by Metro to the beaches. …
The breakfast at the hotel was a good selection and the hotel was easy to check in and out from, the staff were friendly and the hotel also offers a good bar and food service. The staff were very helpful with organising taxis to the airport. The hotel is also very well situated within Rio, very close to all beaches. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This great little hotel is a much cheaper option than many of the other nearby hotels. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Clean rooms. Small refrigerator. AC. WiFi. TV. I chose an economical room without a view, then spent my savings drinking caipirinhas on the nearby beach. A pleasant mix of young and older people. Few children. There’s a small supermarket 2-3 minutes away. I bought water and snacks there. I will definitely stay here again.
The Atlantic hotel is in a nice part of Copacabana, near Ipanema and good bus services. It’s also close to the beach. We have stayed here several times and liked the price and the location. There is a small swimming pool on the roof and a good breakfast. On this occasion, we booked an extra room for our in-laws. My partner made The reservation on booking.com. On arrival, I was disappointed by the man at the reception desk. He was unhelpful. I had a question relating to our booking and he half answered on a gruff way. When I got to the room, the sheets were stained. They had been washed but had old stains on them. I didn’t complain because the man at reception had been so unfriendly before. On previous visits, we were always happy but felt less comfortable this time. We have recommended this hotel to other friends but won’t be going back on our next trip to Rio De Janeiro …
Good Great views and (small) pool and spa with shower facilities on rooftop. Good breakfast options. Helpful English speaking staff. Great location in safe neighborhood close to beaches. Safe box in room. Lots of similarly aged guests (no kids or olds). Bad I don’t understand why some hotels can’t provide water to guests. Just do it. Include it in the price if necessary. Humans need to drink. The hotel isn’t close to the metro but Uber is cheap and reliable. Toilet didn’t flush properly.
This hotel is well located, in the heart of Arpoador. Rooms are nice, however noisy, at least the one I stayed in, even with the window locked I could hear the street noise. Wi fi is slow and it needs improvement. Breakfast is basic and they should have more options of food.
