I'm reading so many bad comments about the hotel. I was there for few days with my girlfriend to enjoy Rio and Barra. I guess we were lucky because our room was nice, big and spacious, clean, the bed supercomfy and with a nice balcony with a sea side view. We were happy with that. I agree on the other things, the hotel needs some renovations and maintenance, the facilities they offer are very old, from elevators, to swimming pool, gym, common areas. The restaurant for the breakfast also, decent food, but undrinkable Coffe, and cutleries and glassware, tables and so on, very old. The waiting time at reception is quite long, even tho there are many people working there, the hotel is massive. That was a bit annoying. Another bad note, when asking help from the room, for cleaning or new towels, is taking forever, sometimes they don't even come, inventing excuses that the staff is on break or that they came but we didn't answer the door, when we were inside all the time waiting. That was ridiculous. It should be fixed. To finish with a good note, amazing and well done to your receptionist Márcio, was super helpful with us. At the arrival and check in, informing us about the hotel amenities, hours, and eventual tours we wanted to do, always super polite and with a big smile. Thank you Márcio 🙏…
The stay was a nightmare Check in took forever- wouldn’t take cash for a small fee I had to pay and asked me to go get change elsewhere (happened at the check out too) The first elevator on the left is a nightmare, I thought I was trapped! plus the numbers don’t work The rooms are old and smell. Do check the picture of the toilet I put up, it’s so run down that it looks dirty. It’s disgusting They wouldn’t lend me a chair on the beach because I didn’t bring the card.. the thing is I had no idea that a card system existed because no one bothered to tell me about it. I was wearing a bracelet from the hotel but still no luck. The location is good but I think it’s an accident waiting to happen. They clearly don’t invest a dime so I would never go back. Staff is also rude, the security guards.. the front desk staff and the horrible lady from breakfast.…
The hotel does not allow our children of 8 and 9 by themselves at the pool. This policy is new to us and not advertised on the sites where we made the reservation. This effectively prevents me to do my job while staying at the hotel since I cant work in the room while the children enjoy their stay. To solve this we asked for either an exception or an ability to check out and refund for remaining days. Both was rejected. This is somewhat strange for a international company in the hospitality industry.. Bad policies and lack of hospitality culture of the management translates into lack of proper training for the staff. We will never stay in any Wyndham hotel again ever. I'm unsure why a global company would choose to loose a life time customer. I guess like always people just have not received proper education and training. While the service, breakfast are just about acceptable the rooms are slightly humid.…
My family and I stayed here for 4 nights and the workers and staff were great but the hotel is getting run down due to moisture and water problems . It is in a great location and great little balcony but besides that it really needs some work
I am from Rio but living out of town at the moment. I have to say I was really disappointed to see a hotel so close to the beach and so close to my own house in such a pitiful situation. The rooms have a lot of mildew, not recently painted and not well cleaned (the glass and mirrors in the bathroom have stains). Apart from the view, everything else was not desirable. The balcony had a table and no chairs, both saunas were not working and when we asked about the beach service, we were told to go to the beach and check. The place where breakfast is served is ugly, utensils and glasses are of poor quality and plugs and wires are everywhere. The hotels lacks painting, cleaning, training and so on ... but the price ... this is the same ... high.
This place is just nasty, my wife is 6 weeks pregnant, the first room was stinking of mould that was clearly growing over the whole room, we changed and again it was just as bad, the whole place is filthy and disgusting, this hotel would be shut down in Europe or North America, no glasses no cutlery no kettle all requested, never came , we gave up asking in the end, we checked out early after two days as it wasnt worth the risk to our unborn baby, the reception was helpful but whoever's they called didnt bother with their/our requests, it took 2 days just to get chairs for the balcony, we asked and asked and asked even tipped and still we didnt get anything requested, I have never seen so much mould in a hotel, it was disgustingly filthy and certainly not worthy of a 4 star rating, it looks nothing like the pictures except for the lobby, poker room never open, I bought some ben and Jerry's ice cream from the hotel shop and had to leave it as there was no spoon in the room, shower head looks toxic see the pictures for yourself, save your self and your health and DO NOT STAY HERE worst hotel I have ever stayed in by far…
At first, after seeing the reviews, I almost canceled. I arrived and the receptionists were overly nice and smiling and very accommodating. Once we visited the pool - I was taken back by the maintenance of the pool and stone decor. The pool restaurant and service went above the beyond. There is an organic market that is extremely convenient if you have kids. There is a coffee shop as well. Evening reception staff helped me order local food as my Portuguese is not that good. Bathrooms are fine and functional The only critique I would give management is to include mugs, plates and cutlery.
After a 4 night stay, on my check out day, with backpack ready to fly out, housekeeping went through my stuff and stole cash from me. I only realized when got home the next day. I have e-mailed the hotel management a few times and have been totally ignored. Not a single response. They absolutely don’t care. Have future reservations for the same hotel but now have to cancel because of their neglect. Other than that, cleanliness is pretty bad, dirty rooms. Sauna doesn’t work, packages take forever to be found and so on.... lack of respect to guests.
Awful! Bed bugs, bathroom smelling horrible. It takes hours to someone get things done. A simple phone call to ask for towels and nothing. Pretty bad experience. When I switched rooms because of the bed bug, the other room had water liking. They never updated the hotel rooms since 2003.
This place needs some serious renovation. We tried to check in and had to try 5 different rooms first before we can speak to someone about the horrible mold smell and just old and broken or just whatever furniture they had at rooms with some walls water leaking stains. Anything you can buy for you breakfast would be better because we were able to see breads and more breads and lots of cakes, not a quality nutritional quality side dish as protein, absolutely garbage food for 4-5 star hotel.
