We visited the hotel during the Carnaval period in 2020. The hotel is situated in the neighbourhood Lapa, in the middle of the street festivals and very close to the Sambodromo. The room is spacious and very clean. More importantly, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the neighbourhood. We loved our stay and recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to visit the heart of Rio, cidade maravilhosa!
The rooms are very small but clean and well maintained. The price is spectacular and the breakfasts are excellent. I don’t use the small safes but some people do. I highly recommend. There are no English speakers on staff so prepare ahead. I’ve stayed here 4 times, twice with a Portuguese speaker and twice without. It’s harder alone but it can be done. Either way you can’t beat the price.
Not much to say about this hotel except that it is more than adequate. Nestled in downtown Rio, it is vibe bordering on noisey. It's location is not the best in terms of views etc. But as a tourist who does not plan to spend most of their time stuck in their room, it's no problem. The room we stayed in was clean and had more than enough linen and towels. (The pillows were rock hard though!). Shower was clean and they had a nice array of in room supplies which are overpriced like every other hotel. Staff was friendly enough although they hardly didn't speak English. Decent enough for the price and worth a visit if you are content staying in the heart of the city
This hotel is a honest and acceptable hotel in Rio downtown. Is incredible how I hate this city, especially the downtown. It stinks, the traffic is terrible (worse than São Paulo) and the rudeness of people makes it a terrible experience. Beside this honest words, this hotel is a exception in downtown area. Location: Downtown is only good if you have business in downtown or if you have no better option. It stinks. Room: There are a mix of rooms, olds, recent renewed, small, bigger, noisily and quiet. Basically the rooms are OK if you compare to other hotels of downtown and most part of them got important improvements. I spent months in this hotel and could map the rooms: The rooms final 01 and 02 are terrible, the are very noisily and has the view to the street, this view means a stink and dirty street, crowded at day and infested of drunks at night. The best rooms are final 12, 13 and 14. Quiet and more modern than the rest. The rooms on first floor are good specially the 126. Breakfast: Poor quality, poor option and the tables are always a mess. Overall: Regarding the location of this hotel, it is a good option, the best of this area. Downtown is only good if you have business there, if you are a tourist it will be good only to get drunk and stoned. Rio de Janeiro is not the wonderful city anymore, it is past. The City has only feel neighbor that worth the trip and the downtown is far of it.…
Stay at this hotel for 6 days . Good service and clean rooms . Hotel facilities are also good . The food at the hotel is also delicious . However, not all hotel employees can fluently speak English . .
