Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Check in was quick and easy, but I did check in at 9pm. Room was quite small with the bed dominating it. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Towels were sometimes nice, white and fluffy: other times threadbare and grey. Key card stopped working several times. Lifts are a nightmare. 2 lifts for 19 floors. Often, especially at peak times like breakfast, only one of the lifts is turned on. This causes massive queues in both directions. Breakfast would be great if it wasn't literally the same thing every day. The best thing is the scranvked eggs. The sausages (cut up hot dogs that taste of liver in some kind of red liquid) are awful. The cheese balls when they have them are delicious. The coffee is good. I just wish they had bigger cups. The cleaning lady was very friendly. The front desk staff were either unfriendly or miserable. Check out was a nightmare as dozens of people were all trying to check out at the same time. Good location for tram, metro, Santa Teresa tram. Easy to get Ubers and taxis. Ideal if you're flying into the domestic airport, which is just around the corner (which I wasn't). Very close to Selaron steps, aqueduct and the modern cathedral.

I stayed at the Hotel Atlântico Business Centro. Its central location near the underground and retail establishments is a plus. Its complimentary breakfast is both varied in selection and good tasting. The accommodations are quite basic / no frills. The front desk staff is generally unhelpful. If you need a place to sleep and enjoy breakfast in the morning, consider it an option.

Room was very big, modern and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and nice pool and sauna area with great views on the roof. Location in Rio Centro is also good if you don't need to go out in the evenings.

I arrived on Sunday and there was absolutely nothing open anywhere around the hotel, so I had to resort to the hotel food. The room was extremely small for the size of the bed but I managed. The mattress was ok and I didn't have much trouble dealing with with the spaces available. There was a buffet and, with nothing else around, I decided to go for it. Available there was rice, beans, chicken and some beef medallions, which I chose to my regret. I had to swallow the meat pratically whole to avoid spitting it back on the plate. I lacked hydraulic jaws to be able to chew it. Service was OK, albeit some pompous attitude by the front desk gentleman (there was he, a white man, and two black young ladies. The ladies were nicer. Would I return? Only if circumstances demanded due to proximity to a place where I needed to conduct business, otherwise no. The top floor, where they have a "swimming pool" (more like a 7' X 7' tank), offered an amazing view of the Sugar Loaf mountain. They also have a gym and sauna which I did not visit. The float screen, however, had good reception and several channels, including CNN International in English. The shower was pretty decent, but the lighting in the bathroom sucked. Incidentally, the restaurant did not offer a la carte. Buffet ot bust.

It's a wonderful place to stay at the heart of the city. It is located near the Teatro Municipal. Recommended for beginners of Rio de Janeiro. The view of the beach is awesome. The swimming pool also is viewing the city center and the spa is also good.

We stayed two nights. Location is only good, city center. Air conditioner horrible, very loud, cannot sleep, rooms are warmer than corridors. Swimming pool with really dirty water, we didn't use it. Reception staff are like they welcome another number not guests. We expect something different, better to pay few Euro more and stay in better rated hotel, definitely will not back there.

If I could give it a zero I would. This place is the worst place I have been in a long time. The staff is not helpful and don’t seem to care about your experience. The air conditioning has been making loud noises and the staff don’t seem to want to do anything about it. I have never been in such a place. Don’t stay here it’s definitely worth spending the extra money to avoid lack of sleep.

We stayed there 5 days in clean and comfortable room with room service. Price was under 30 Euro a night and breakfast was acceptable. Very well located with helpful staff. All kinds of public transport (bus, tram and metro) in walking distance.

The lack of courtesy of the employee responsible for controlling access to breakfast and the location (an inconvenient place at night), were responsible for not recommending this hotel. The rude man did not want to let me enter the breakfast room 3 minutes before the time limit and he told me that, if I insisted, I should know that I would have to eat very fast because they were about to close. So, in order to avoid problems, I just got a banana and left soon. To my surprise the arrogant guy told me that I could not go out of the room with the banana. Conclusion: I had to eat it standed up beside the ignorant and unprepared employee.
