Thus is your typical middle of the road hotel. Simple, decent breakfast. A very poor rooftop pool, only slightly larger than a bathtub, with nondescript cocktails. But, it is safe, relatively quiet (the street noise can be significant), and clean. If you only need a place to lay your head, this works.
Nice and clean hotel, friendly atmosphere, very nice location, smiley staff, great value, comfortable beds, big room, nice views, swimming pool and sauna in the roof garden, minibar, easy to park, close to every think
I read online about a traveler mentioning the super slow check-in process...VERY TRUE! We arrived at the hotel after guaranteed check-in and the room was not ready which is sometimes common...we waited about 30 minutes and finally got a room. Our room was located in what seemed to be a 'dungeon'. Far away from the normal elevator and you had to walk up a flight of stairs just to get to the room (No elevator access to the dungeon side). The hallway leading to the room was pitch black and the lights only turned on by motion sensor. (the lights would turn off after a few seconds so better hope you're in your room before getting stuck in the dark again) We get to the room and we're shocked to find that the pillow cases had what looked like 'male specimen' and the walls had been drawn on by crayons? Immediately we called down and spoke with a gentleman and explained the situation and requested for a room move or someone to come clean the room. He was EXTREMELY rude and unwilling to help and kept saying 'NO, NO, NO'...I understand that the hotel might be at full occupancy, but you should offer alternative solutions rather than just saying 'NO' I myself work at a Luxury property in the United States so hearing his response was completely UNACCEPTABLE! The only reason we stayed was because the room was non-refundable and they would certainly not refund us even though the room did not meet expectations from the website #falsemarketing I will never stay there again and recommend people re-think before booking here...It really sucked being that it was my first trip to Brazil .…
I stayed here on a recent break to Rio and really wish I had found somewhere else. It is in a convenient location but that is the only good thing about it. Even the local hostels seem better than this place. I paid extra for an upgraded room and advised the hotel that I was on a business trip. So, they stuck me at the front of the hotel with the all noise from the beach parties going until 2-3 am each morning - the rooms have NO soundproofing so I didn't get any sleep. The room was totally outdated and not particularly comfortable. Neither was it very clean. There are no amenities in the room (tea/coffee, iron etc) so after a long hot day at the beach you. are forced to use the bar or walk to a local shop. I didn't use the bar so cannot comment on that - I spent. as little time as possible at the hotel. But the restaurant, which I did use for breakfast, much like the rooms was incredibly outdated. Added to this the breakfast was pretty bland and not much variety on offer. More frustratingly nothing was labelled (or was labelled incorrectly) and there was absolutely no allergy information. As a coeliac this is very bad for me. The staff had no clue either. BE WARNED if you arrive late for breakfast most of it is gone and they do not replenish often! The check-in staff weren't very welcoming and in general the staff were all pretty rude I found. With then exception being the bell-boy. They allow people to walk in direct from the beach with sandy feet and half dressed which is both not pleasant from another guests join of view and also makes for dirty communal spaces. This is frankly one of the worst hotels I have stayed at, especially for such a prime location (beachfront). Please don't waste your money.…
Stayed here 6 nights + good location, direct across from Copacabana beach. Shops, restaurants and bars on same block on either side. + rooms spacious, modern decor, modern bathroom with good shower + good selection at breakfast and good sized dining area + door staff, bellboy staff, restaurant staff, maids all gave great friendly service + the price I got this hotel was good but reflected in some things + sea/ panoramic views of Copacabana from our room were amazing (room 802) - the rooftop pool was small, pool was dirty and the glass partition was filthy to the point you couldn’t really see through it for what would have been a amazing view - the reviews regarding the towels are true. They are pretty grubby looking, dirty marked with some appearing grey rather than white. This is something that let’s the hotel down quite badly. - the reception staff aren’t the friendliest. When asked questions they didn’t seem very helpful. When I had to run out quickly and asked if my wife could check in it seemed a huge ask. When I asked the male rdceptionist/manager ANYTHING, it was returned with a grunt or shrug of the shoulders. The customer service from the front desk wasn’t even as good as average. When we checked out, I was handed a bill 1 one bottle of water, when I paid, I stood for 10 mins not knowing it was complete before the receptionist replied ‘that’s it!’. When I asked if my cases could be kept for a few hours after check out, I didn’t even get a response, he just pressed a bell on the desk for door staff to collect. When I asked if they could call a taxi for us for the airport. Another male desk worker didn’t respond, just said something in Portugese to the door staff who then arranged it. The desk could really take some tips from the other staff. If it wasn’t for them I would be rating our stay 2/5 rather than a 3.…
First I have to say that was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed! In general the room was absolutly dirty as you can see in the pictures. I even found a strange hair in my bed and two booger at the wall and near my pillow. Everything was in a incredible bad condition. The room of my familymember was this bad too! I had to wait 3min 23sek (I stoped the time) before I got warm water to shower. And when I opened the window the only thing that I saw was a wall, another room, the air conditioner and some water tubes or similar. The noise of this air conditioner was even during the night disturbing loud. When I complained about the room the receptionist was very rude and not customer-oriented. The staff at the reception don‘t want to work! One women walked away while our conversetion. We paid almost 200 CHF wich is approximately 750 Real for this horror hotel for two nights. It‘s unbelivable that this hotel consider itself as a 4-star hotel. …
We stayed over the New Years period. The rooms are totally outdated . Not worth the rating and value for money . The staff at reception not very helpful. The rooms has old linen and it was dirty, towels very old . The rooms are very noisy The top floor is only good for the views, it’s is outdated and needs major renovation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone .
This hotel has ruined our holiday in Brazil. It is over priced, over rated with nothing to offer. The duvet was stained and had no cover so we ended up sleeping with just the sheet because we were told that they could not help us, old grey towels, old spring mattress, rude reception staff who will not make any effort to improve your stay, poor quality of the food at breakfast, the rooftop has no appeal
We booked online after seeing the photos of rooms with sea view, rooftop pool, etc... Upon checkin, we requested for room with sea view, were shocked to be asked 30% more per day for a room with a view. If that is the case they should advertise those rooms separately. Room didnt have no glasses, cups, leave alone complimentary water bottle or tea/coffee sachets or even. They refused to give electric kettle, and even an electric iron. They said give it to the laundry😡😡
I posted pictures and they will speak of themselves Yes location right in front of the beach, but that pretty much it. Beds are extremely dirty, and obviously sheets were not changed for a while. You could find body hair all over the sheets and it didn’t smell so bad Towels had black and wierd stains. Bed duvets have no sheets and therefor never washed. We had to change rooms and yet the pictures are from the cleaner one The manager at the front desk at night is grumpy and unfriendly . We were disgusted to touch anything there. For the price you pay, better get a cozy Airbnb. Because it’s a rip off and it was low season. Would never stay in such a place, we just wasted time changing hotel next morning.
