Young guy at the front desk this morning told me to "just walk around" when I asked if there was a stationary store nearby. This was after he could not be bothered to find a simple envelope so I could mail a letter. Later it was raining and I stupidly asked the same guy if the hotel had an umbrella:... More

We stayed here for 4 days. Staff was super friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the area. Rooms were very spacious which was awesome! Internet kept cutting out which was annoying. Located near grocery stores and the beach which is also great!

Positives: Two blocks from beach, didn't see a bug in the room in 3 days, free breakfast was adequate, staff was helpful and was fairly fluent in English. Negatives: Lots of outside noise, very basic room by U.S. standards. Not sure how much rooms cost normally (I was there for the Olympics, so the rooms were $300 US), but I... More

If not for the location next the metro and beach we would have tried to pay 3xs more to move to new hotel. We just pretended we were athletes living in the run down Olympic village. Room Smelled, it was loud (we were on street side, Windows rattled all night). However the staff was super friendly and helpful. It wasn't... More

Clean, basic accommodation. Some rooms have been updated and much nicer than others. Depending on where your room faces there can be a lot of street noise at night. The hotel is conveniently located to Copacabana beach and we felt quite safe walking in the neighbourhood. The breakfast buffet was a very pleasant surprise. There is an excellent selection and... Do not recommend. Needs remodeling immediately.. The hotel is old and run down, they do not take care of the facilities as a proof our room had a broken toilet that would not flush. Obviously the cleaning people never reported it. We had to dig our arms several times a day to flush the toilet!

Great location. Close to a lot of tourist areas and the beach. Outdated rooms. Not the nicest bathroom (location of shower head and hanging areas not enough). Breakfast is tastes good but it is the same food everyday. They don't have brochures for tourist suggestions at the reception. Parking fee is separate if renting a car. Bed is a little... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was nice that the sofa-bed accommodated our two girls (age 5 and 7). The only downside was that the internet was not working for the first couple days of our visit (during the weekend).

Stayed her over new year and so the proc was astronomical. The location is very good - close to the beach and metro but otherwise nothing was particularly good particularly for the price we paid. Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
