#216 of 349 hotels in Rio de Janeiro
Villa Paranaguá is a 10 bedrooms hotel, located in the inspiriting neighbourhood of Santa Teresa between the tropical Atlantic Forest and Guanabara Bay . The Villa once was the home of the notorious brazilian actress Tonia Carrero and her husband the italian actor and director Adolfo Celi. The Villa was beautifully renovated and decorated by Marie and Pierre Beuscher. The couple tastefully mixed hand picked art objects with design furniture from Sérgio Rodrigues, Le Corbusier, Philippe Starck or Fukusawa in the high ceilings rooms, creating airy, stylish and inviting spaces.

We spent two nights in this absolutely incredible place, where noyhing is left without a thought, The decoration is amazing. Heaven for people interested in design. The breakfast was very good, served by the table, just like we want it. Very kind and nice staff and the most important part - The owners who are present which creates another atmosphere. The room was very very nice, Everything with high quality and for us the fact that there wasn't a TV in the room is a great detail. This is a real pearl!

we’ve changed several hotels during our stay in Rio and this was by far the worst. -first, the service is way below average, we felt quite unwelcome, -secondly the location is very unpleasant- its in a dirty and scary area , where we felt very uneasy to walk around. - also, the food was very strange to our taste. we just wanted to leave as soon as possible and felt releived to move to a much better hotel. We feel the rating of this hotel is absolutely unjustified and does not reflect the quality of the stay. We hope other toursits will not fall into the same trap as we did with this overrated hotel.

-very ackward and uncomfartable place. -located in a dark, dangerous area, surrounded with fences with barbed wire. -uber drivers refusing to take you there because its close to favella. -at night dogs barking will keep you up. -unfriendly and annoying receptionist I’ve stayed in so many hotels - this is definetely one of the worst.

Dear 518ams, We are sorry to read your comment, I understand that the Villa might not have been what you were searching for, I am afraid this happens, still I would like to clear up to readers that there is no favela close to the hotel, we are in a quiet, residencial and beatutiful historical neighborhood. We are concerned you had such a negative experience and wish we could understand better, but due to your anonymous profil we could not find your reservation.
