i stayed there for two nights, i had the worst bed ever. bathroom was dirty, the people were friendly the area is great. i think fir 225 real per night is worth only 1 star. i will never gi back also another good thing not bad is the distance to airport o ly 20 minutes. This is the third time i stayed there i guess the other rooms must have more confirtable beds.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and my only complaint is the lack of hot water. It got lukewarm, which is good enough for me though. The people were really nice, and the accommodations were reasonable considering the price and location. Overall I would recommend it, and stay here again :-)

Very good location and nice, english speaking staff. Generous breakfast. Small room with good mattress in the double bed and minimalistic shower. Simple doors so dont forget the earplugs if you are sensitive...! During my 4-night stay it was booked out but no noise at all in the corridor. Very good location with 7 minutes walk to Copacabana beach and 10 minutes to the subway. Lots of shops and restaurants at the nearby Avenida Copacabana but the hotel is situated at the end of a blind alley so no traffic noise at all. The staff knew everything about their town and were very helpful with tips about what to see on your own and also arranging different tours. Will absolutely stay there again if I come to Rio.

Some of people who writing this horrible comments need to just get a grip! This is 2 star hotel and don't expect Hilton! This is not UK this is rio remember that! I would highly recommend this hotel for young people and single travellers. I saw some comments which are so unfair! Staff is excellent... I was single traveler and receptionist gave me all instructions where to go and what is worth to see... There is computer available in the reception and cold drinks as well. If I ever will be back to rio I would definitely book this hotel again. Also great benefit Copacabana beach is 4 min away ;)) They also serve nice breakfast! Guy in the reception name Carlos is the best employee! Such a great guy.

I reserved this hotel for 3 nights via Expedia.I had a very long trip from.Salvador and finally arrived to hotel around 7. I was very disappointed on what I saw..the hotel was under renovación and no one warned us. I went up the stairs climbing 2 flours and the room had a bad smell was dirty and the shower dirty like very old and smell. They offered me another room 2 meters behind the reception which was also noisy in top of all. I travel a lot and this is the first time to get so low. I said to the recepcionista I want another place and he offered me Canada hotel which is where I am now. I called oversea to Expedia they that the hotel is charging me one night..and they cannot avoid this. And the service of Expedia offer me a voucher of 50 us d to sen it to my mail for what happened. After two days I still didn't got the Expedia voucher offered to me. Thanks I believe that people should be warned that hotels like this exist. It was less than a Posada in the middle of Rio...they didn't have a safe

Hotel Angrense, although humble, is great accommodation for a tourist visiting RDJ on a budget. One block off Copacabana, it is in a very handy location. With a laundrette and supermarket also one block away, the amenities are brilliant. Also very handy for flagging taxis, which we were advised was the safety way to travel in the city. The staff were all very helpful.

There is nothing special to this hotel, its basic. But its in a great location only a couple of streets from the Copacobana. The rooms are simple but functional. The only complaint is that the air con units in our room seemed a little old and could do with modernising. It was very noisy as well. The breakfast buffet was excellent, a lot of choice including fresh fruit. We enjoyed sitting outside the hotel on a couple of occasions, its down a side avenue off the main road so is sheltered and quite quite despite its location.

Just got back from rio after spending 10 days there. After reading some previous reviews for this hotel ,i was a little nervous about booking this place. But what it lacks in style it makes up in location ,friendiness of staff. When in rio u dont really need to spend much time in your hotel anyway.Trust me if your on a budget ,this is perfect.Beach is just seconds away by foot, loads of great shops and places to eat just yards away.I loved my time there.
