The French designer Robert le Heros has created a place of festivity, both poetic and colourful, thus inventing a seductive "art de vivre". Casa Amarelo is a luxury GuestHouse, refined and authentic, built in More 1904 on the heights of Santa Teresa, an historic area, where artists' studios border beautiful Brazilian homes and museums. It is a magical place, a mixture of the charm of an ancient building and the modernity of contemporary fixtures and fittings. Less

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.

Casa Amarelo isn't the easiest place to find, but once you arrive and get in the door, it's a wonderful, amazing place. Vintage, classic elevator. Early 1900s decor, beautifully restored and furnished. Elegant splashes of color everywhere. Super comfortable mattress in my quiet,

We're from San Diego, so proximity to Rio's beaches were not high on our list. What we wanted was a hotel with charm and local character, and Casa Amarelo was perfect. Rooms on the main floor have 12' ceilings and a combination of old world charm, interesting decor and warm, tren

Hi, I am inquiring as to the relative safety of the immediate area around the hotel. Thank you, John
And by the way, the hotel itself is a fortress. Built in the 18th century on a very steep slope, it's protected by a high fence and entered through a long tunnel with a locked grated door, going directly into the elevator and from there - to the reception. If not a place of luxury and extreme comfort, at least this property is an unforgettable experience. And not a bad one.

"Book the suite on floor 3 for views and privacy "
"Large and well decorated but would advise the management to keep up the maintenance. Next time we stay, and there will be a next time, we will stay at one of the suites."
"Simple, Art Deco, Retrostyling, nothing for fans of modern hotel amenities. But peaceful, relaxed, personal!"
"The room in the tower at the top, you can access only with private elevator !"
"There are only a few rooms (6). If you can, step up and take one of the larger ones. "
