- In-room internet poor. Impossible to use in room. Did all my work in the lobby. - Wet rotting floor. After complaining, the upgraded room had stained bed sheets, pillow and sofa, a gaping hole in bathroom drywall, fruit flies in shower, hair in bed, floor lamp with no bulb - No in-room usb charging - No international TV channels - Far from everything including food. - Broken hot tub (jacuzzi). Wasn't working for duration of my stat. + Front desk staff are professional and try their best + Air conditioning + Good clean gym, murky pool, nice sauna. + Ok breakfast, Coffee, tea, eggs, processed meats and processed cheese, pastries, toast, juice, cereal, yogurt...ect. + Uber is quick, cheap and efficient Attention to detail is a cultural thing, so if you're not from North America the above points may not bother you as much as they did to me. The hotel will probably respond saying Novotel is sorry it did not meet my expectations but in reality nothing will change (and probably get worse with more time as the hotel gets older.) The price is right but they should charge a bit more and fix everything. It would drive more traffic. I'll never stay here again.…
It‘s a secret to me, why they get good reviews. I stayed there for two nights. First of all, the location is far off almost everything! I just found one supermarket within walking distance. Upon check-in, which took a while for what reason ever, I didn’t get a welcome drink, which I usually get as a member of their loyalty program. I even gave the check-in agent twice a hint, if my number is on file. In general I have to say, that most of the staff members, except the one at check-out, where bored and slow in what they’re doing! Arrived in the room I realized, that the blanket was not covered by a proper duvet cover, but with two bed linens only, which I don’t like at all, cause everything shifts whilst sleeping. And these linens had some tiny holes already. And they curtain had some unpleasant stains. Another thing I didn’t like was, that when I took a shower, the temperature of the water changed suddenly from regular hot to super hot again and again! After every single flush of the toilet, there was such a loud noise whilst refilling the water tank. I can imagine, that you even could hear this noise on the aisle in front of the room. The worst thing was that the wifi was unstable and slower than slow during my stay. I had to login every couple of minutes again and again. Watching movies, YouTube clips or even Instagram videos was impossible due to both the low speed and the trouble with the permanent login and logout thing. I booked this hotel with breakfast, but I didn’t want to visit this in the mornings. I never ever would return to this Novotel Atlantico in Rio de Janeiro!…
Very pleasant hotel to stay in. All the staffs are very friendly and always there to help. Language is an issue being an English speaking but all the staffs are willing to try their best to help. Stay here for 3nights before transfer to Macae. Overall it was a very good and pleasant stay. Room are well clean.
Hotel well located for those in Rio de Janeiro on business, with easy access to the central area and Niterói. Very well decorated, beautiful environment and the rooms are large and in good spirits. The restaurant has great options, is very varied, and the food is very tasty. Breakfast, even with the protocols against the coronavirus, is well served, varied and very tasty. The best of all was the service, the whole staff very helpful and attentive.
An executive hotel, with standard installations, nice staff but misses the minimal quality at some key services. The restaurant is overpriced for the quality of the food served. The dishes are super caloric and unbalanced. Salads with a lot of cheap ham and canned food. Minimal vegetarian or vegan options. You won't get a full balanced meal there. Room service will bring a huge amount of disposable plastic every day. No glass cup or mugs available in the room. Coffee will be served in disposable cups like any cheap take away service. Once you have finished you just leave the dirt dishes and rest of your food on the floor at the hallway, and they will be collected once a day. (that makes a nice and very hygienic view). The couch (which is actually an optional bed for kids) and the chair are ok if you intend to take a sit for couple of minutes a day, try to work there and your back will be requesting some pain pills soon. The hotel is near the city center but you will depend either on public transportation or a tai to get you anywhere. There’s absolutely nothing at a walking distance, the hotel is surrounded by empty and abandoned buildings..…
I would like to thank you the hotel for my stay, First of all, the hotel reception were just INCREDIBLE, they tried to do everything they could to make my stay perfect. I had trouble with charging my iPhone and they tried their best to make sure I could charge my iPhone. Great upgrade for me , I was staying at the Premier floor and just fantastic with a beautiful view! I spent some time and the pool by the roof , clean , nice and tidy and really I had a good time there, specially cause we are a bit further to Ipanema beach. The lady who were cleaning my room ,she was so kind and friendly. Thank you very much for looking after me during my stay last december. Thiago Costa
If you are looking some place up front to the beach and with a beautiful view this is not the place, but if you are looking a clean, comfortable and very modern hotel this place is definitely a good choice. They have a nice restaurant with 24x24 service a nice pool and very cool sauna. The staff works very organized and you can really relax in this place.
I enjoyed my stay in this Novotel very much. The rooms were very clean, staff took a very good care by the daily room service. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. Especially the manager Andrey was very helpful and professional explaining me how to get to particular places in Rio, gave recommendations and advices about visiting the city. He speaks very good English and helped me with some translations from Portuguese. Thank you for that !
Like the Novotel hotels. Quality is very good. CLean and reliable. I liked the breakfast and the overall facility. The only comment I had is related to the information that they shall disclose on underground parking. The valet parking is outsourced and you can park your car yourself. Bear in mind that giving your car key to a valet is asking a person to have fun with it. I find it risky. In my case it was a motorcycle so even worse. I did park it myself at the same underground parking lot
We have stayed in this hotel in 2018 after a problem in the ibis besides the Novotel. We have actually booked the ibis, but by any reason they informed we would stay at the Novotel. We couldnt be more happy, as it looks like the Novotel was much better than the ibis. We stayed there just one night, but we did like it that we were back this year again (after a problematic reservation in Novotel Santos Dumont - dont go to this one guys). The reception is clean, modern and nice. The rooms are good and quite bright. The breakfast had good options and it's tasty. Talking about the breakfast, I recall I made an observation last year that it was missing an Info about what was the food in the buffet, at least in English. For our good surprise this year everything in the buffet had a Portuguese and Enlgish paper card with the info in front of it. Well done!…
