Great place to meet people, party, and rest if you want to. It's run by the captain, Felipe, whom you'll meet for sure if you stay there. Good atmosphere, breakfast, and location. Was gonna stay there for a couple of nights and ended up staying for three weeks.

My friend and I had a great stay at Books, it's a great party hostel, super lively and great vibe and the different happy hours are great. I love the courtyard type area, great social space and area to chill in the day. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is pretty decent.Books was also the only hostel I stayed...

We had a fantastic stay at this lively, colourful hostel. Great place to socialise, meet people & party. The staff were great, especially felipe who is a real gem. One of my friends turned 30 during our stay & the hostel made her an amazing birthday cake which was a lovely gesture. There's a nice TV room, a kitchen you...

Great hostel. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. No complaints. Very easy to meet people as always stuff happening. Felipe the owner very friendly. Lapa isn't the nicest area in Rio. A lot of homeless around & streets are very dirty. But I found it relatively safe & had no bad experiences. Close to bus stop & metro to commute to other...

I would rate this hostel a 5/5 as all the workers were so friendly, kind and helpful and the vibe was amazing. There was always a great party every night and the happy hour had such cheap drinks I couldn't have asked for a better hostel! also the breakfast was incredible: a range of fruits and a cheese toasty machine...

Quality nights out with a unique good relaxed atmosphere. Liked the little things like breakfast, filter water, decent wifi, friendly guys on reception with good advice and mainly sound people staying there. Do the two brothers if you're in rio

I was completely underwhelmed when I first arrived. I wasn't even sure I had arrived at the right place. However, once you walk through the door, it is a very different story! I was greeted by the Owner, a really fun and friendly guy, named Felipe. What was only going to be a few days suddenly became 5 days. In...

The room was a little small for 6 people but other than that my friends and I enjoyed our staying very much. We stayed for 6 nights and each night was a party night since there is a little bar that offers happy hour from 7 to 11 pm after that the bar closes and the party keeps going on...

Beware it looks nothing from the outside and took me a while to find! But other than that, staff were so friendly and helpful. Its a very laid back hostel by day but hopping party hostel by night! I was there on a Thursday and Friday night and met lots of like minded, young party goers taking advantage of the...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
