I will try to summarize my whole experience … this is bay way way to far THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I’VE ever had. From the front desk and their employees to the rooms and infrastructure, to be honest this property should be demolished and they should fire everyone (who lacks from professionalism) the photos aren’t close to reality, my first impression was when I got lost and tried to call the property (they answered and said “this is not a hotel” and the immediately hung up on me) the second attempt to make a good impression was when the rude lady from the front desk refuse to provided the wifi information, and never proportioned other information such as parking, I’ve spend 1 night on 1104 and 706 (I believe) you can tell which one is more stuffy, mild dew everywhere, linen stained and almost transparent, to the point that I didn’t want it to put my head on any of the pillows, the bathroom was so NASTY, SO NASTY, that a Road Motel will be significantly cleaner that them, there was hair on the towel hanger, WC stained of mildew, walls, there wasn’t a corner where you cannot see it, spend the most horrible two nights of my life, and I couldn’t request the refund to the third party because the rude lady refused to provide the wifi, had asthma attacks and requested hot water for a tea and surprisingly there wasnt cups, stirs, nothing! So I called FD a little of hot water and they refused to provide it instead they said to use THE NESPRESSO MACHINE (unbelievable). But the top of the cherry is that by the time I finally managed to reserved in a HOTEL CHAIN the front desk manager FELIPE very polite and explicitly said that I will get a full refund, (20 days later I’m still waiting for it). Don’t get fooled by his politeness, he will lie to your face with no regret. Perhaps he will dispute my review saying that I never stayed in his hotel. (Like he did on previews reviews). Believe me the photos are WAY TOOO FAR FROM REALITY!!! This property shouldn’t be included in a 1 -2 or 3 star hotel, it is definitely A SCAM, tricky publicity, photoshopped photos. And I’m taking the time to write this review because no one should reserved and get scammed by this thefts.…
This member of staff apparently the manager of Best Western Design copacabana called Felipe is extremely rude and aggressive. He insulted my mother and sister at reception. Treatment them with contempt and racism because they are or color and have a humble appearance since the moment they arrived. My sister put me to hear on the phone their conversation, he was snob, rude and shouted at them as if they couldn’t her. My partner was shocked and really really sad since he was nice nice in English to us on the phone. Front desk staff shouldn’t be snob. My family only stayed because the payment wasn’t refundable. The rooms are very tiny and stuffy But facilities problems can be overcame with good service. All the staff was pleasant and breakfast was basic but good valeu for the price. However only this horrible individual spoiled the whole experience and view of the hotel. I would honestly say please stay away because If you don’t look rich he will mistreat you. I just hope he remembers that he also have family and the he would be sad if someone make them feel this way. Tbf this shouldn’t be happening since we paid for a service. It’s 2021 racism is no longer accepted. I haven’t seen how Felipe looks like abs it doesn’t matter at all, we have treated him with respect over the phone just as every human being should be treated. We did a 2 days booking on purpose just to try out the hotel and bingo! Not worth it. My family have moved to a much nicer hotel with impeccable service which I will review here very soon. I understand that Felipe don’t care but on a business point of view best western have lost 15 days of my money.…
This hotel is great when it comes to get around Rio; the subway station is just across the street and there are several bus stops nearby. Breakfast is decent. Room is just average, TV needs improvement (poor image and sound)as well as shower (little water). Staff is helpful.
Very nice hotel, well located in Copacabana very close to the beach. Many restaurants nearby as well as shops. The underground station is just across the street although we have not used it. Surroundings felt safe enough, but would recommend not taking bags and jewellery when going out and keeping phones out of sight. At night, the are can get quite crowded. The breakfast was very good and started early in the morning which is great when jet lagged. Good coffee. Our room was a bit small and not such a nice view but was clean and comfortable. Good wifi. Check in a bit slow especially after a 12hrs flight, but the staff at front desk was very pleasant and welcoming.
I stayed there for five nights in January 2020, and have only good things to say about the hotel. Nice and clean room, good food in the restaurant, friendly and helpful staff (with good advices about where to go - and not to go), great location (400 meters from Copacabana beach and across the street from Cardeal Arcoverde metro station) and in a pretty busy and safe part of the city, with many shops and restaurants. Not too expensive rooms. They can also offer transport to the international airport for 25 real. That's much cheaper than taxi!
Me and my husband arrived too early in the morning of 25.12.2019, and we could made a check in and have the room ready... We stayed in it untill the 31of december 2019. First of all the hotel staff are amazing, let you feel at home. Speak english that help tourists to understand and communicate very well, and they are ready to help you in anything. Secondly they are so close to copacabana beach. Thirdly they help you to find a guided tours to see all around Rio... Fourth they are so close to the subway train, just cross the road and it is infront of you. We used it in order to go to lagoa and see the christmas tree in the water... It was a pleasent time in this hotel
This hotel location is across the street from a small park that contains a subway station. There were many small stores and places to eat near the hotel. The beach was a 10 minute easy & safe walk away. We thought it was an ideal location and the price was affordable for the area. The staff was very friendly & helpful. I would stay at this Hotel again.
We stayed at 7 different hotels during our visit to South America. This was the smallest of all the rooms but was perfectly adequate for our needs. The room was clean, the bed was large and comfortable and the large walk in shower was appreciated. Breakfast was good and included plenty of sliced fresh fruit and a variety of bread. We also ate at the restaurant and both enjoyed the steak meal. We appreciated being only 5 minutes walk from Copacabana beach and walked down there each day during our stay after returning from daily excursions. Thank you to all the staff for a very pleasant stay.
Excellent hospitality from Management and Fatima & the rest of the team at reception + security , throughout our stay at the hotel from 26/11 to 03/12. The manager at reception assisted to resolve a dispute with an unprofessional tour guide with complete efficiency. I would definitely return!
The hotel was clean and breakfast was great. Wifi was good. The hotel was a 5 minute walk from Copacabana beach. Special thanks to Ivan who helped us in a complicated situation where my wife and I were the victim of a taxi scam. The taxi driver claimed our bill was 600BRL for a taxi ride from the airport!! He helped to diffuse the situation and we paid the correct price. The rest of the staff were also kind and helpful. Thanks again for the comfortable stay.
