Hotel well located and good value for money. The reception staff were very friendly. I stayed in apartment 201 for 7 days [facing the sea] but it needs maintenance on the glass window, which doesn't seal completely. Due to heavy rain, in one of the early mornings, the floor of the room (right side of the bed) became very wet, which compromised guest safety issues.
ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES: for breakfast and the pool you need to climb 16 steps, although the hotel has 2 elevators that go to the 3rd floor. This should be made explicit on the website. When I made my reservation, I made a note regarding restrictions on going up/down stairs [even though I am not in a wheelchair] and nothing was informed to me in advance. At reception, when checking in, I was informed that breakfast would be provided in my room and it was done. I am grateful for the attention of the kitchen staff and especially Dona Maria, who always served me with care and, although elderly, went down/up 16 steps during my stay, with a plentiful and varied tray for me. As for the leisure area [pool], unfortunately, I wasn't able to enjoy it.

It was a great stay, with good location. The cleaning all the room was happening every day and the breakfast was perfect. Congratulations to the entire team.

I only thought that the pool area could open earlier and close a little later, opening hours being 9:30 and closing at 18:00.

The location is great. The service is excellent, from the reception, kitchen and cleaning. The price is cheap at R$270, which made the daily rate fair. The hotel has a lot of potential, the area is large, very spacious, but poorly maintained. Wall-mounted air conditioning, old and mostly chipped furniture. Rusty fridge on the outside. Mattress is soft and pillows are hard. Few sockets in the room.

The only advantage of the hotel is the location....
Very old hotel, in need of urgent repairs in several locations.
Room full of gambiarra, air conditioning working, but extremely noisy (impacting on my quality of sleep), breakfast very simple, curtain smaller than the window, and our room was facing the street, plus shower taking too long to warm up, which generates a lot of waste of water. I'm not complaining, but I think it's important for the company to know what the current scenario is and look for improvements. The enterprise deserves better service so as not to lose territory to other hotels.

Decent hotel, bit further South that I had liked on Cabo Branco. As you are a fair walk from the all the decent shops. Right across the road from Tambau Beach and expensive bars etc, avoid these bars and go for the ones not on the beach side. Much cheaper. The hotel had a great fresh breakfast, good selection. Roof top has great view of the strip. Rooms are decent, even though a little dated. No room safes, not in Room 203 anyway. Overall good hotel, just a little far from the North section though for shops. Staff seemed shy, didn't openly say 'good morning' had to be prompted.

Well, I loved the location. Right next to beachfront with numerous eating and drinking places just steps away.
Personnel is helpful, although with little english knowledge.
There is a pool on the roof and breakfast is ok.
So far the positive points. The rest of the place is very old and urgently needs a brush up. Rooms are noisy and kept in seventies style with everything falling apart. Toilet and shower do work but look like public places. Wifi is a bit slow. There is, beside a fridge a noisy aircon and a TV, no further equipment in the room.
Generally I had the impression of a very cheap family hotel.

The location is excellent, and the restaurant inside is very good (and expensive). However, do not be fooled by the clean lobby and restaurant. The rooms need renovating, and smell like cigarette smoke. Though it is against the rules, guests smoke in their rooms, and unfortunately my temporary neighbor chain-smoked all night. The management did nothing to stop this. Nevertheless, I thought the hotel staff and restaurant staff were courteous and efficient. My room was next to the elevator, but it did not disturb me. The air conditioner was weak, but the Internet worked ok most of the time. This could be a great hotel again if they did a comprehensive renovation, but that would likely require outside investment. I spent a week there during a business trip (the convention center is far away from the Xenius and all other hotels, thus allowing taxi drivers to gouge everyone). I would stay there again. The beach is literally across the street and is very clean compared to cities like Recife, Salvador, and Fortaleza. I think the Xenius is a good deal overall, and better than many alternatives for those on a tight budget. Though the choices were slim compared to my previous experiences, the breakfast was good, and had a decent choice of juices. Hotels in the USA charge 4 to 6 times the price of hotels like the Xenius, and are NOT located adjacent to nice beaches (which would cost more than 10x), and NEVER have good breakfasts with fresh fruits, juices, and excellent coffee. Eu amo Brasil!!!

This hotel is in a great location, within steps of the beach. The hotel is trying to be nice (nice looking lobby, restaurant adjacent to lobby, nicely dressed staff, bellhop to carry bags to your room), but the facilities do not catch up to the service.

My third-floor room was nice in that it has windows on two sides (including one looking out at the beach), but the street noise was pretty loud, there was a window with no glass pane in the bathroom, the bathroom door was really beat up, the air conditioning did not do much so the room was pretty warm, and there were some other beat up parts of the room. I was glad upon checking in that my stay was only for one night. But on the positive side, it was clean and felt safe. My double room was reasonable size for one person, but would have been rather small for two (even a couple).

Additionally, no one at check-in or check out spoke any English, which made things difficult. I certainly do not recommend staying here if you do not speak Portuguese, as the people I dealt with did not try very hard to understand me. There also seemed to be cheaper places to stay that seemed fine (I paid R$177 for one night at Xenius), so if I visited Joao Pessoa again I would try a different hotel.

This hotel is well located on the sea front, cheap given local prices and serves a reasonable breakfast, but it is very poorly maintained. Our room had no bathroom lock and was infested with ants. One of the bedside lights did not work, even after a visit by hotel maintenance. We then moved to the room next door, but the shower hot water did not work. Hotel maintenance then fixed this by replacing a worn rubber washer. In both rooms, the bed mattress easily shifted so that my wife fell off one night. The air conditioning in both rooms was weak and noisy, with an open gap above the AC unit in the first room whihc we had to stuff with towels. The hotel parking lot is only accessible by small cars. The nice staff are helpful, but we will never stay here again.

I loved too much the hotel, the location is privileged, close to everything, not to mention the view that we have from the pool area and while we have coffee, simply in front of the sea.
Hot shower, clean room every day, towels changed daily.
