Staying on the beach is probably nicer, but we wanted to stay central for one night only, to visit the historic sites, and be close to the busstation (which busstation is recommended here)
This Hotel is cheap and for business men only. Would not recommend it for a romantic visit. The lobby and restaurant look better than the rather pokey and poorly lighted and maintained rooms.
The aircon was deafening and too cold, and the bathroom had old brown tiles painted over.
The beds were not soft, which is good in Brazil.
Not bad for a night and reasonably clean.

Doubtful location (especially for those who arrive early in the morning), dirty-looking room and bathroom (to disguise it has a strong smell of cleaning product), sheets that were once white are now brown, there is no elevator!
