The charming, lovely and rustical Pouso do Chico Rei is just around the corner of the Praça Tiradentes. Looking out of the window in the living room you see the beautiful Igreija Nossa Senhora do Carmo. The location is perfect to explore the centro historico. The view out of the window in room 6 is a dream. The room was...

The hotel could be a great place to stay but no... It is very disappointing that such a beautiful old house in such well located place is not a good place to stay. Maybe one day this was a nice hotel. Today, the total lack of care makes it a very decadent and sad place. The rooms need painting, the...

The glowing reviews are correct. The owners are lovely, the location convenient, the breakfast generous (fresh bread, fruits and cheese), and the antiques amazing. Warm water only in the shower. TP in the waste basket. Old building with old windows that rattle (so do the shutters) and let in cold air. Mosquitos. No hair drier. Good fast WiFi. Good bedding...

The location is great, you can find everything you need within a waking distance. There are good restaurants nearby and many shops to buy souvenirs. The pouso/house is definitely a big plus. The rooms are big and beautifully presented. The people in the house is also very friendly, Ricardo and Dna Edna were amazing. They gave us some tips where...

This pousada is dripping with 18th-century charm, and if you like that kind of thing -- and who doesn't if you're visiting Ouro Preto -- this is the place to stay. Full of fun history of famous guests who have stayed here and beautifully decorated. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Pouso do Chico Rei is right...

An old family home now being run as a B and B in Ouro Preto. All original features and furniture seem to be in tact. None of the windows in our room (Ninita e Lilli) closed properly but we did not care about that, the room was lovely. The room is detached from the main house and overlooks tiled roofs...

Friendly staff! The rooms are old, but beautiful old! Everything is clean and well perserved. It looks really nice and you feel like you're in the 18th century. Breakfast was good, everything you need! Great stay if you visit Ouro Preto!

A historic hotel, so it has some quirks, but overall it was charming. We had specifically booked the Pablo Neruda apartment, but they changed our room at the last minute, which was disappointing. The Lilli and Ninita was nice as well though. There is free parking on site, but it's pretty tight and it's easy to get blocked in, but...

We stayed in room No. 8 as a family of four. The big old key unlocks a heavy wooden door to this room in a 200 year old Pousada. The view is magnificent when you look over the city close to the city centre. There is a nice terras in front of the room to enjoy it. It is also...

Very central location within walking distance from the main square of Ouro Preto. This hotel fits well within the city with it's red roof and colonial style building. Rooms were large and also in colonial style. Breakfast was ok. Car parking in front of the hotel.
