Pousada Estrela do Mar is smartly situated; not far from some the beach, museums and restaurants. Anything further could be reached with Uber or a Taxi for a reasonable amount. The staff was always helpful and kept an eye out for our interests. For example, Nubia took the initiative to ask us if we wanted concert tickets (she was already...

Absolutely amazing! Loved the decor, the location, the staff, the room- everything! Special thank you to John Paul, Daniel and Nobia, really went the extra mile which helped to make my stay great. Breakfast was delightful and you are surprised with different selections, fruit and freshly squeezed juice options each morning. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and will be back with...

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Really clean everywhere. Great breakfast and unlimited coffee - little places to sit and chill very welcome. Overall highly recommended but don't be disappointed by the tepid shower (hot water seems to be in very short supply in most places we stayed in Brazil!)

I am traveling round the world at the moment so am staying in a great many hotels, B&Bs, hostels etc. and, although most are perfectly decent, it is seldom I find a place that feels more than that. Pousada Estrela do Mar is one such place. It is a haven for tourists and locals alike. A little gem. Sean, the...

What a wonderful hotel. From beginning to end this hotel offered us a fantastic stay in Salvador. Sean who is an amazing intelligent and knowledgeable owner offered us nothing but detailed information about the local community, history, environment etc. He has a dream team of staff including Nubia and Daniel who were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Breakfasts are great and...

I was there for two nights at the very end of my trip. It is a charming Pousada in Barra, only a few steps from the lighthouse, the beach, restaurants and also walking distance from Barra shopping mall. Perfect location and good value for money! Rooms are basic, but clean and very comfortable, with a huge bathroom. Wifi and aircon...

A beautiful relaxing pousada just one block from the two beaches of Barra. It is marked by the presence of Sean, the Irish-owner and exemplary host, good English-speaking staff and excellent friendly service with endless helpful suggestions on what to do and see and where to eat. Decent breakfast included with the rooms and all day coffee and tea available....

We stayed two nights. Rooms were good, breakfast was very tasty and the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Location in Barra is very convenient, close to the lighthouse, beach, restaurants, shopping mall and the city is easy rachable by taxi. I would stay here always again!

I stayed for 3 nights having just spent some time in the Amazon so it was a bit of a jolt at first since Salvador is very much a bustling city. This is definitely a B and B place rather than a hotel so don't expect the amenities of the latter. However the basic rooms are clean and quiet despite...

If you like the bed & breakfast feeling over hotels, then for sure you are gonna like this place. Although it won't give you the boutique luxury feel (since I was here 7 years ago, it's clear that a touch up renovation may be welcome) it has so much to offer for relatively little money that it with no doubt...
