Beluarte is an attractive pousada in gorgeous Santo Antonio, a gem of preserved colonial gorgeousness about 2km north of Salvador city centre. It's tiny - just five bedrooms - and has a homely feel with touches of 19th century grandeur such as parquet flooring throughout. There's a good breakfast (lashings of fresh fruit, bread and homebakes) and it's quite and...

We stayed here during the world cup and had a wonderful room. The rooms are cozy, but clean and the breakfast was plentiful and fresh. It is a short walk to the old city. I cannot comment on the pricing since we paid extra because of our timing, but it was still a reasonable option. Zelina is a wonderful host....

Salvador accommodation can be surprisingly on the expensive side so we were happy to find a clean and comfortable pousada with a reasonable price. Located in the historical neighbourhood of Santo Antonio ( about a 15 minute stroll north of the Pelourinho), the house is beautifully restored and tastefully decorated. Our room was compact but just what we needed to...

I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a cozy, clean, quiet, and 'home-away-from-home' sort of place to rest your head. Zelina is the perfect host. After a chaotic day of traveling, I immediately felt at ease walking through the door of Pousada Baluarte. The night I arrived, she had soft music playing and candles lit, creating an...

This is my second stay in Pelhourinho & I'd heard about this Pousada from a good friend. I LOVED my stay here. The owners and staff were so gracious and the house itself is beautiful and spotless. I really did feel comfortable - I wish I could live in a house like this. It's in a great location, far enough...

Pousada Baluarte is a really nice place to stay while you're visiting Salvador. It is just outside of the city's main attractions in the Pelourinho area, but only a short (and safe!) walk away. The rooms are spotless, breakfast is great and the people very friendly. Also important: unlike a lot of other pousadas this one has a really nice...

This little oasis of tranquility is a fantastic place to wind down from a day in Pelerinho. I was here with my girlfriend and we felt right at home. The Pousada is actually set up like a normal house and Zelina the elegant owner, made sure we had all we needed. The rooms, the living area, the terras, the kitchen...they...

I stayed in this pousada 4 nights and was the best stay I had in Brazil! The pousada is very cozy and clean, the breakfast is served in a very beautiful patio and includes different exotic fruits everyday, fresh juice and daily made cake. The owner, Zelina, was very helpful but not intrusive, she gave us very good tips on...

Accommodation had a nice colonial feel to it and was very clean. Our host was very welcoming and although she did not speak English we could manage in our basic French which is much better than our Portuguese! We had a room with an en-suite and a fridge, it was very pleasant although the bed was a bit too hard...
