I used this guesthouse for a layover in Manaus. I had already heard this was a great option and I can only agree. Has all the things you need : good bed and bathroom, free wifi, nice breakfast and friendly staff.

This is a decent little place to stay, and it's nice to be out of the dangerous and creepy Manaus city center if you are doing a jungle tour, however the double overhead CFL bulbs with no covering and no lamps made me want to weep. You could do surgery in the bedrooms and still have some light left over...

The hotel was very nice, but the staff, before and during our trip, really made the difference. The owners put us at ease and helped us plan our trip before arriving in Manaus, then they had us collected from the airport and later booked a tour around the city for us. They were very helpful with restaurants and directions. Breakfast...

It isn't easy to stay there!!! The access to this hotel's reservations is very, very cumbersome. I have tried twice to reserve there and filled out long on-line booking requests, only to receive an automatic response that I would be informed "within 24 hours." I have never been informed within that time period, and it has therefore been very difficult...

We arrived at the Chez Les Rois well past midnight but were still met with a helpful and friendly reception. Chosen on a recommendation and a very good choice. Most people stay in Manaus only on route to the Amazon and this is an excellent choice, safe and secure and in a good part of town. We were able to...

We loved our stay. Some of the rooms are small, but they are clean and comfortable. The television had more channels than many of the big hotels. Breakfast is plentiful, with fresh fruits and eggs to order. While we were their we had a medical issue and the owner went above and beyond in helping us out. You won't find...

Nice small hotel. Rooms very sparce but nice pool and garden area. Not a good location however so if staying for a few days in Manaus suggest the St. Paul apartment hotel.

The Pousada building itself was beautiful, situated in one of the safest areas in Manaus just 5 mins walk from a supermarket and 10 mins from numerous large shopping malls & restaurants... ideal for us to pick up our last minute Amazon jungle trip essentials! The reception area was large, modern and open plan with a free internet terminal off...

but, is this hotel really the best in Manaus? The rooms are dark, we had one overhead fixture. The bathrooms were small, the water pressure definitely limited, and not hot or cold. Rainwater? There were two towels, no washcloths, and tiny bars of soap. The staff we encountered had limited english at best, and we had no portugese, so communication...

My cousin and I stayed at Chez Les Rois during January 2011. This pousada was home to the family of Miguel Rocha a.k.a. the "Amazon Nut". It is now operated by his very dedicated son Mauro who has succeeded in making his staff just as caring, polite and dedicated as he is. Outstanding actually. When compared with others, I consider...
