The hotel is located right next to the port and within walking distance to all the attractions. It is a waterfront property with a lap swimming complex in front of it. It does not have a private beach as some of the other similarly priced hotels.

The hotel front desk girl was very helpful, she assisted us with all of our requests.

Hotel amenities were not great. The lockbox (safe) in the room was not bolted or secured to anything. It was very small and just sitting on top of a counter.

The room key card which controlled the power for the room often did not work. We had to go to front desk several times to ask for a card reset.

Breakfast was simple (eggs, toast, cheese, tomatoes, olives etc.). Coffee was not good, a watered down version of American drip coffee.

The hotel has quite a bit to improve.

I would definitely recommend this medium sized hotel on the main beach in Saranda. I was a bit disappointed that the pool did not, in fact, have any water in it - despite it being sweltering hot in mid-May, but apparently May is still "off season" there. We had a third floor room facing the Sea, and it was just wonderful having the big wrap-around balcony with a couple chairs. Great views of the beach and port area. I should mention that there was considerable noise until about 10pm on a weeknight in the port due to machines, etc. It was a very short walk to the main promenade, the produce market (everyday from 9am-2pm) and bus stops. The bed was not comfortable by western standards but the sheets and towels were clean, and staff were cheerful and helpful. It included a modest breakfast buffet too.

We have just returned after staying here for 7 days Sept 24. It was our first visit to Albania and definitely not our last.
We were to be honest a little worried as we had made our reservation earlier in July and then afterwards saw that some travellers, here on Trip Advisor, since then had left bad reviews. We need NOT have worried. The hotels location is a 2 min walk as you come out of the Ferry Port, we were on last ferry and this was perfect as we were tired and not sure of our surroundings. This may seem like a noisy choice buts its perfect especially if you get a sea view. The hotel looks out across the beautiful Sarande.
Yes there are other hotels, of course there are and a lot more recenty built, but all that glistens is not always gold!
You need to decide what it is you are really looking for, if it's fancy 5 star like other holiday destinations maybe more European then go to one of the newer builds. But if it's a well run well established hotel then this is it . This hotel has been here for a long time and so it can seem a little tired in places but here is the truth: The beds are very comfortable, very crisp and fresh linen, changed every day. The rooms are perfect size some larger than others depending on choice. The bathroom we had was large and yes the water drained slowly sometimes from the shower tray, but the bathroom was always cleaned by housekeeping fresh fluffy towels every day and the shower was a good shower, so no complaints here. The breakfast is not your typical european breakfast but it was more mediterranean, fresh pancakes, fresh fruit mainly grapes and melon, eggs scrambled or fried or hard boiled, hams and various cakes and pastries depending in the morning. Yes if you arrive at the tail end of breakfast choice is less but thats ok theres plenty if you arrive on time. The Manager and the Reception staff were so kind, the reception staff especially, Alexa could not do enough for us and gave us great tips. We were there at the end of the season and there were a few knocks in paint work or a bulb gone in our room, or batteries gone in TV remote, all fixed within moments of telling staff. If you speak kindly and courteously to people they are only too happy to do all they can to help. All hotels take wear and tear during the season and then tidy themselves back up for Springtime, so dont be put off by commets. This hotel is the perfect location for visiting Albania especially if your first visit, carhire with SIPA travel two doors up highly recommended and currency exchange open late next door. Although located at the port, it is very quiet after 11pm and the music from seafront is slightly quieter here and it all goes very quiet after midnight. try and book rooms with seaview, upper floors. A beautiful hotel, perfect location and wonderful staff. We will return.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with a family of 5. We had a reservation for 3 rooms.
This hotel does not reach basic standards, is not clean nor maintained and is not even safe.
The management wants to compete with the big boys who have 4 or 5 stars but is completely failing, even by Balkan standards.

Most important findings;
1/ positive; according to the high price none!

2/ negative;
There is no hotel parking as they advertise: you have to pay 5 euros/day at the nearby pay parking of the port.
In and around the hotel you can constantly smell the diesel emissions from the ships that dock in the terminal just next to the hotel.
The rooms were not cleaned upon check-in.
The rooms were not clean after cleaning. There is a sticker on the toilet with the message “disinfected”.
Room with water damage; swollen baseboards, peeling wall paint and mold on the wall.
Too little lighting and cheap LED strips hanging loose.
Short circuit in the room's lighting circuit: the lights go off and on again spontaneously.
Walls with dirty cracks.
1 socket for 3 plugs including the refrigerator; either you watch TV or you have a working refrigerator.
Fire detector has been removed; absolutely unsafe and illegal!
Rinse water from the toilet runs next to it when flushing.
Ants in the rooms on the second floor.
Poor finishing of the rooms; safe is loose in a cupboard, toilet paper holder loose on the wall, etc
Wifi doesn't work in several parts of the hotel!
There is not enough room in the breakfast room for all the guests. The breakfast does not meet a 4 star concept at all.
The swimming pool is far too small for all guests

This place is a dump. We have checked out today 4 days early as the hotel is in my opinion borderline dangerous. We can’t lock the balcony doors, the safe is not fixed to the wall and can be carried about. The smoke alarm has been removed from the room. The breakfast is inedible. Today on the third day they had boiled eggs. The other two days nothing I could even recognise. No toilet paper and had to ask reception. No clothes hangers eventually provided 6 for two people to hang clothes up for a week!
Pool has trip hazards and sharp edges. £1000 for this rubbish !! We are departing early for Greece and have had to pay another £800 to find somewhere to stay the rest of the week. This is supposed to be in a nice area. It’s a total dump. So disappointed. We raised concerns with the front desk but nobody’s cares. This is how it is and all rooms the same is the reply. Awful awful. I wouldn’t let my dog stay here.

I paid 150 euros for one night and what I was offered left a lot to be desired. The worst thing was the breakfast, no service and cooking, and they offered very few choices of food. The old room, what does it mean that if it does not justify the conditions for the price, do not set it so high.

This isn't the best hotel in Sarande - not that I'd know because we only stayed here. If you walk around there are newer, bigger, probably 5 hotels all around. But covering the basics, Palma City is clean, nice room, beds are comfortable, the breakfast is ample and varied and very tasty and the staff are very polite (especially Alexa who is a star and a mine of information).

However, if you are going to Albania for the first time - and so are probably adventurous but maybe a little nervous then Palma City is the perfect place to stay.

As our late night ferry was coming into Sarande we were really concerned we would be in bother finding the place. No need, you come out of the port and it's there - you can see it on your right as you go up the escalator from the passport hall. The proximity to the port is nothing to worry about - the port itself is very small and there's never more than two ferries in.

The other big advantage is that Palma City is actually very central while still being just on the edge - it's a 10 minute walk to all the restaurants in either direction. But it's far enough away that the party atmosphere won't keep you awake.

The balcony gave a great view of the whole of Sarande and its surroundings and the pool was refreshing (and quiet) in the heat.

Highly recommended - and when we go back to Sarande again, I can see us staying here.

I don't really right many reviews but this one deserves one. First time in Albania and didn't disappoint. We booked this apartment very last minute as we got off the boat from Corfu, it's literally next door to the port. It's one of the best places we've stayed, we had the big apartment with the jacuzzi, the reception staff are lovely especially the young girl I did ask her, her name but I've now forgotten it's been over a week since we was last there, very helpful and smiley. On the last day before we was leaving we asked if we could leave our bags, it wasn't a problem. The apartment was nice and clean. Only downside the breakfast in the morning wasn't the best, not much to choose from. The young girl did actually come knocking on our door with fruit and said the chefs said she didn't see you eat much. Big thanks to the young girl :)

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. The location was perfect it was right next to the port, the sea and sea front restaurants.
The staff were amazing I cannot put into words how good they were, they went above and beyond expecially the lady in reception.
I have no faults with my stay it was amazing we got a sea view room my party and I were amazed by the view.
