We were on a coastal drive from Wakayama-Shirahama-NachiKatsura-Ise-Kyoto over 10 days. We chose this ryokan based on other reviewers recommendations. Overall this is the best ryokan we stay on this trip and what's makes for the great stay was that this ryokan was clean, very well maintained, spacious, quiet and had very close n great sea views on the 2nd...

The owner is very helpful and the hotel is very clean with good sea view. Location is good as it is close to Meoto Iwa. You can see both night view and sunrise conveniently if you are able to get up early.

My stay at Oishiya followed a visit to Ise Shrine. Many people visit Ise as a day trip, but I was really glad after a busy day of sightseeing that I had made the decision to stay at Oishiya. Futominoura Station is only two stops (5 minutes or so) on the JR line from Iseshi Station. I was a bit...

We stayed in this Ryokan for 2 nights in August and it was wonderful. This was the first ryokan that we stayed in and was one of the highlights of our holiday in Japan. The hosts went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel at home, even with our very limited Japanese. The food was delicious and...

I lived in Japan two years before this and have travelled quite a bit around Kansai. This hotel hospitality is top notch, staffs are very friendly and the owner is very kind and helpful. I came with my mother, who has knee problems. The hotel facility has lifts and is very friendly for elderly people. The rooms and public baths...

Stayed here for one night and we were amazed at the hospitality at this little Ryokan. Well appointed, elegant and excellent service. The package deal included all meals which were served in the spacious tatami room. Delicious and fresh traditional Japanese cuisine and very filling. Not large portions but many courses! The private baths are great too, and free if...

We stayed for one night in Ise enroute from Tokyo to Kyoto with the intention of visiting The Ise Grand Shrine. We choose Oishiya from TripAdvisor because of its high rating amongst Japanese travelers and were not disappointed at all. The price included dinner and breakfast which were both served in the room. The service was excellent as one would...

We booked after reading many reviews. We were so happy that we did that! This "Ryokan (Japanese traditional hotel)" made our Ise trip one of the best travel experiences. Staffs were friendly and attentive, "Aburi "dinner (Japanese BBQ) was delicious. We want to come back!

“6/F for sure as higher floors offer unimpeded sea view.”

“Rooms on the 5th and 6th floor have great ocean views (Our room was on the 5th floor). While each room has a private bath and toilet, there are two private baths on the 4th floor (anyone can use them but they cannot be reserved in advance - we had no trouble getting one before dinner). The two larger "general" baths - one for men one for women, are big and clean. Like most ryokans, they alternate the men's bath with the women's bath each evening and morning. The bath on the left hand side has a wonderful cedar tub outside with a nice view of the ocean. We had no trouble using it before breakfast on our stay!”
