Came to the area to go to DC and Ubered in. Nothing wrong, just a very dated hotel in regards to furnishings and appearance. Was on the 8th floor. Pool was green and closed but the front desk had the hours of the pool posted - so I assumed it was able to go sit by and relax. Parking was handy - $18. Bed was a pretty comfortable. Check in and out was easy enough. Went across the street to the Hilton (the commentary) for food and beverages.
Rooms need to be updated. The smells change from day to day in the hallway and in my room. From chocolate cupcakes to mildew. Bathroom looks old and smells like fish. Previous Holiday Inns that I have stayed at in the past were in way better condition. Also, refrigerator does not have a cool temperature at all. Water pressure in shower comes out full force, but when I pull up the lever to take shower the water pressure is weak. Should have known something was off when we pulled up to the hotel and the lights (hotel name) was flickering on and off
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel..We were in town for a family reunion. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our rooms were clean and I was able to rest well. The location is minutes from DC and the walk to the Metro Station, Macy’s, Target & Starbucks was close. We enjoyed waking up every morning and having breakfast at the restaurant. The food & menu were great.
Running paths right out the door. Four or five blocks from the metro. The hotel is nice, management is great, some employees were great (one check-in person seemed not well-trained and NOT happy about her job). The only thing that would have made my stay better is a microwave - if not in the rooms, at least one in the lobby?
I was there with a youth group to visit the nation's Capitol. My 4th floor room was aging but acceptable. I didn't feel the peeling wallpaper was worth complaining about. But for others in the group, it was a nightmare. Mold, mice and mildew were a problem for those in the group who were on the second floor, which is the floor to access the pool. The saving grace of the place was the people who work there. I had a 4 night stay and everyone I encountered was polite and well spoken. The staff responded as best they could to the need for changing rooms due to the conditions. Our group had a special breakfast arrangement and it was wonderful every morning.
The hotel is very simple and cozy. It is perfect for staying the nights and exploring the city during the days. The staff is rather friendly and understanding in terms of late check-ins. Also, this hotel is very near a metro station, so getting to the city center is extremely easy!
The morning of August 12th at 4:30 am when I was drinking my coffee, sitting on the bed, with my feet on the floor, facing the window, a rat, the size of my forearm to my wrist, was walking along the base of the bed in front of me, towards the wall!!! I was extremely terrified! Immediately put my coffee down and stood on the bed yelling for help! I was unable to move because I had no idea if there were more in the room and what their behavior was like! I wasn’t for sure if they attack people or if they jump! I was very distraught, and no one was there to help me. I mustered up enough courage to run to the adjoining room and we eventually shut the door! I called the front desk to inform the staff that there was a rat in my Room 202 and my stuff was stuck there! I asked if they could please help me get my stuff or get the rat so I could get my stuff! He said he would send someone up and no one came! I asked some people in my group to help me get the stuff out of room 202 and the boys and a mom came in to remove the stuff. I feared for my safety and the overnight hotel staff did nothing to help! When I called to speak to management at 1 pm, the front desk lady asked me, after I disclosed who I was, she asked if I was the one with a mouse in my room as if a mouse would be better than a rat, but I know that mice are small and rats are much bigger, and I told her it was a rat and I need to speak with management. She transferred me to a voicemail.…
The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They each went above and beyond during my stay there, I will most definitely be back there because of their exceptional service during my stay there
What we expected to be a wonderful trip to D.C ended up becoming our worst nightmare. We had our first experiences with BED BUGS at this poor service hotel we stayed in room 420. My wife was woken up at 4am because she felt what seemed to be a burning stinging sensation on her hands. We pulled back the sheets and saw the bed bugs. We killed some on the sheet but it already had bit us. When we called the front desk the night audit employee just told me to go to the front desk and get a new room. He never showed any sympathy or empathy regarding the incident. When I asked him what is going to be done about it he said there was nothing he can do that I needed to speak with the front desk in the morning. I called to speak to the manager Sunday July 26,2022. The front desk lady was even more rude than the night audit guy before! She placed me on hold without asking me while I was explaining the situation. She then came back to the line and told me there was nothing she can do because the manager is not in on weekends so I needed to call Monday morning. Unsatisfied with the way I was treated upon check out I explained again to the gentlemen who had just started his shift everything that had happened. He took my phone number down and told me the manager would be calling me first thing Monday. Well here we are Monday 5:15pm EST STILL NO CALL STILL NO RESOLUTION. We had to go to the urgent cause of how big and swollen my wife’s bed bug bites were and it turns out she had an allergic reaction to them. Needless to say I will be writing corporate regarding this. Run away from here you will get bed bugs!!! BEWARE THIS HOTEL DID NOTHING ABOUT THE BED BUGS IN ROOM 420 you will get bit up and they will do nothing!!!…
Holiday inn Arlington was great hotel. Very comfortable beds and super shower. Food was reasonably priced and very tasty. Staff very efficient and helpful. Within walking distance to the metro station into Washington. I would stay again.
