Don’t stay here! We stayed here for three nights and had a terrible experience. The AC didn’t work for our entire stay, the carpet in the room was disgusting, and they don’t clean the rooms at all during your stay. If anything is wrong in the room, the phones don’t work so you have to go down to the front desk to request anything (e.g., new towels, fans, etc.). If you complain, the manager David (who works 10 hrs a week and is never there) will gaslight you and say you should’ve left instead of trying to rectify the situation. Would HIGHLY recommend spending another $20-40 a night to stay somewhere else. Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
We really enjoyed this hotel mainly because the excellent customer service. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating especially Brittney. We appreciate the accommodation for early check-in due to our flight arriving early. Room furniture is a bit out dated, however no issues with the room. Everything was clean and we wouldn't definitely stay here again
We were pleasantly surprised at the size of out suite! It’s more like an apartment! The beds were very comfortable with nice sheets and pillows. The breakfast on the 8th floor with views of the capital and Washington monument was great! Parking right outside entrance was convenient and much more affordable than most hotels in the city. The metro was conveniently two blocks up and easy to navigate. The only negative was the couch needs replacing and more attention to dusting. Also next time I’d request a room on front of hotel with better views. Otherwise we loved our stay and will definitely stay there again if in area!
Enjoyed our week long stay here over Thanksgiving. Visiting our daughter’s family who live in the apartment building behind the hotel. Because she has twin toddlers we were very religious about staying masked at the hotel and saw many posters up promising staff would be masked. Encountered several staff who were not masked during our stay as well as fellow guests who streamed into breakfast unmasked and congregated between tables talking. We were unhappy we weren’t allowed to get food and bring it back to our room. Other than that we were very happy with our room and it was mostly quiet (a dog barking down the hall one afternoon was annoying but it was quiet at night. Parking at $15 a night was great you could choose indoor or outdoor lot. Huge double queen one bedroom also had a large open living/dining room open to a full kitchen. More room than we needed but very comfortable and clean.…
The hotel is not well marked. My sisters and I, in town for a funeral, drove right past the hotel without even knowing it. Worse, the hotel is on a steep hill. Who in their right mind would put a hotel on a hill???? If one is physically fit, no problem. It was a serious problem for me. I will say it was nice the hotel offered a free breakfast. However, I saw more than one person enter the room NOT wearing a mask. Obviously, the mask requirement is NOT enforced, Not good. Do not stay at this hotel unless you have a car and/or can handle climbing up and down a VERY steep hill. I will not stay here again. The reasonable rate is not worth it,
I have to been to many Clarions and this is by far the nicest one I have been to, by far. I am a Choice Fiamind member and they took really good care of me. The front desk staff was fine and welcoming if a bit harried because so overwhelmed by the amount of people there. What really got me was the rooms. Huge rooms with ovens and dining room tables, at least the one that I booked. Just a lot of space with a really nice view. Clarions are brands that takeover other hotels so each one is different so you never really know what you are gonna get, this one is a winner. Breakfast was great. By far the nicest one I have ever had at a Clarion. It was on par with a Marriott or Hyatt while most Clarions are on par with a Fairfield Inn or Hampton Inn. Will definitely be heading back next time we go to D.C.…
Liked · The only good thing was the beds were comfortable. Thank goodness this was only for a one-night stay. The check-in clerk was very nice. It was obvious he was working alone with no other front desk help around nor insight. My party was one of 5 trying to do the same. Disliked · The front desk clerk at check-in called “Heidi” on the walkie-talkie to see if the room was clean because the computer stated it was still dirty. No answer so he dialed the number for housekeeping. Whoever answered him was rude and berating to him. I did hear an answer of yes to him and why didn't he look among some other things I will not repeat. He attempted to explain, but he was abruptly disconnected. I thanked him and proceeded to our room. I did a very quick look at the room after check-in before heading out again and I used 1 drawer on the top left. I did not have time to check "everything" then because we were trying to get to the Metro and the National Mall. After returning from the DC after 10 PM I asked my spouse to please go ask for more towels so we can shower tonight and in the morning. The front desk staff informed him, "we will only provide you with 2 extra towels and washcloths due to COVID and shortages." I travel a lot due to my son playing hockey, and my daughter participating in dance competitions. I was in the state of Indiana at Notre Dame when states were shutting down when COVID first entered the US and traveled in my home state staying overnight frequently. I will tell you I have stayed in at least 10 other places during COVID (and that is an underestimate) NEVER have I been told this by any other hotel or chain for that matter! The answer has always been how many do you need, not we can only provide you with 2 extra. Now the morning of check out. Imagine our SURPRISE when we're packing up our essentials and just in case our teenagers might forget something we check all drawers and discovered that the last person who stayed there (obviously military) LEFT HIS drawer essentials there. I immediately called the front desk to see if they had an address on file to send them back. I was told no, but she would let the housekeeping manager know of this. After my check-in experience, I doubt that would do any good. Oh, and check the closet/breaker box-looking thing next to the entertainment center and drawer storage on the wall. It's your A/C filter. It was filthy! It looked like dryer lint combined with the dirt you would empty from a sweeper falling off of it. The last change date I could make out was 2018. Being in Health Care and knowing the CDC cleaning protocols during COVID as a safety advocate for a major health care system I WAS APPALLED! I was thanked during check out for letting them know about the last guests' items when handing in the cards, I was never offered a final receipt and never offered a discount since the room was obviously NOT CLEAN! Finally, that deposit that you pay upon check-in that at any hotel chain as a hold on your card for damages or extra charges and would "normally" disappear from said statement on your credit card after check out. This place has a $100.00 deposit fee. Not only did we not buy anything, (correction parking was $15 a day we only stayed overnight and was charged in the rate of the room) but we obviously were only there to sleep and shower. I was charged the full $100.00 long with the cost of the room and I am still waiting for this to be refunded. I am still waiting on management to respond to my complaints. The next email I will be to corporate and I will take it further if need be!…
Stayed here two nights on a sightseeing visit to DC. Staff is friendly and professional. This seems to be an older property but well maintained, better than I was expecting. Our suite was very spacious with comfortable furniture including a king bed and a sofa. Full kitchenette with a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave and 2 element stove top (only 1 worked). Bagels/danish/fruit/juice/coffee grab-and-go breakfast items available at front desk 7-9am. Parking cost $15/night, but that's not outrageous this close to downtown. Only a few (less than 10) minutes from Arlington Cemetery. Some road noise outside, but room was very quiet. Would definitely stay again.
We booked this room using Choice Rewards points when a last-minute work change necessitated us arriving the afternoon before a VERY early departure at Reagan. Check-in was efficient and we were able to find a parking spot close to the entrance ($15 for onsite parking.) The building is shaped as a crescent, so it's definitely NOT a cookie-cutter hotel. The room was spacious enough for our needs, but the finishes within and without skew dark -- more a personal preference than anything else. We walked around the neighborhood to pick up carryout pizza for dinner, and missed the breakfast due to our early departure, but it's fairly well located given the density of the area. if needs require us to leave Reagan at an early hour again, we will definitely consider this property.
I stayed at this hotel on 03/19/2021 in room 416. This was a non-smoking room but the smell of cigarettes and marijuana was overpowering immediately after entering the room. I also noticed the carpet was very dirty and contained a white, powdery substance. The bathroom had what look like dried blood on the floor as well as the wall. Countertops and table surfaces had sticky residue left behind and dishes that were put away were not clean at all. I went to the front desk around 10:30pm and waited about 12 minutes to address all of these concerns but no one ever showed up. I ended up getting only a few hours of sleep and checking out way before check out time due to the unclean environment, especially during a time when cleanliness and sanitation is essential to preventing the spread of COVID19. I contacted corporate and they "forwarded my concerns to the GM Barry" .. I have not been contacted from anyone representing this hotel and this is day 4. This hotel is a safety hazard. Please protect yourselves and stay elsewhere.…
