This is a wonderful place to stay and visit our nation's capital and the surrounding area including the Army's Old Guard, and Arlington cemetery. This gentleman who makes breakfast is charming and delightful and the food is delicious. The only reason there was not a 5 star is the service to the room. We were on our third day when someone finally emptied trash a and brought clean towels. This was the Only reason for the rating. I loved this place otherwise. I am not sure why hotels don't clean rooms any longer.
Our family had two suites this weekend, the first time back since IHG took over. We were so pleased with our stay. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and helpful, willing to go out of their way to meet all requests for help. The suites were clean and well appointed with comfortable beds and very nice linens. The a/c was not very efficient and was confusing to operate. The complimentary breakfast was good and the woman working there was very helpful and professional. We have always enjoyed our visits to Ft Myer and will always stay here when space is available.
If you are eligible to stay here...do! Building 50 is simply beautiful. It's clean, large, beautifully furnished, quiet and safe. The grounds are walkable and peaceful. A ful, hot breakfast is available every morning. Everything you need is provided and if you need anything, the front desk personnel is readily available to help. We can't wait to come back.
They still use artificial fragrances. With Walmart options like Pure Citrus NATURAL spray so readily available and so inexpensive, it’s hard to believe they still do this. If you have allergies or chemical sensitivities, stay away. Just stay away. The front desk help was very nice and helpful but my eyes were burning so bad and I had such a headache within an hour, I had to check out and leave.
This is a lovely historic building on Ft. Myer, Va, right next to Arlington National Cemetery. Our room was very large with a beautiful bay window giving us an excellent view. The bed was very comfortable, especially after a long day of travel. The front desk was very pleasant and the hotel did an excellent job of social distancing. This is a perfect place to stay if you want to see D.C. it is close to everything. I am blessed to be able to use these facilities.
This facility is on base at Ft Meyers so only military members can access the hotel. It appears to be a converted Bachelor Officer's Quarters. The rooms are actually suites with a seating area and sleeping area. All the expected services are available in the room, coffee, microwave, refrigerator, etc. There is no food available in the building. Our room was on the second floor with no elevator so you have to drag your luggage. You have to walk about a block to the club. The evening we were there, the main restaurant was closed and we ate in a simpler dining area downstairs. The menu was sparse.
Retired Military: Priced competitive compared to out of town hotels. I always prefer the safety and convenience of staying on a base. Moreover, Most outside hotels charge for parking where this hotel includes parking. Staying here was a no brainer since we had a rental. Ten minutes from the airport (DAC) and Having the exchange and commissary down the road is a plus. Rooms are nice and Breakfast in the basement is very good. FYI, for those with disabilities, there are no elevators for the second floor. The wright gate is right down the road with the Marine/Iwo Jima memorial right there but closes at night. The hatfield gate is open 24/7 and the main artery to enter/exit the base. Still trying to get used to these ID scanners. It's Close to a couple of memorials (Air Force, Marine) along with the pentagon in view. Neighbors with Arlington National Cemetery. We parked (paid) either Clarendon, Pentagon city, or Court House near the metro station. From there we took the metro wherever we needed to go. If you must drive try to plan for Sunday. Parking is free in DC in metered spots. We found parking on D street next to DAR/Constitution Hall and walking distance to the mall and all its monuments/memorials.…
Rooms are huge, made to order breakfast is wonderful, staff pleasant. The only drawback is the shuttle only runs until 6pm. If you bring a pack and play, there is plenty of room. You can walk to the pool or of easily.
Great staff. Great Location. Need DoD ID to stay here. But as far as proximity to the memorials and the metro, can't be beat. No worries about parking your vehicle or someone breaking into it. Breakfast was awesome, great way to start the day. Rooms were well appointed with all the amenities you could need. Rates were better than most, given the security and proximity.
This is a military only hotel located on Fort Myer. We never stay anywhere else. We have requested the rooms in the historic building in the past, but they fill up first. There is an annex where there are very spacious rooms. Very comfy beds. I've even slept on their sofa beds and they are surprisingly comfortable, too. The hotel allows pets at a cost. The breakfast is wonderful; you can order anything to your specifications and they have ample other choices such as fruit, muffins, bagels, oatmeal, juice, yogurt. Their coffee is really good.
