Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed 3 nights during business trip. Excellent property with fresh, clean decor. Bonvoy elite status was acknowledged and got upgraded to a suite which was quite spacious, modern and clean. I requested feather free space due to allergies so I was assigned to a feather-free floor. M Club Lounge was one of the best I’ve had access to in quite a while. They offer breakfast meats, eggs, oatmeal and pastries, afternoon snacks and evening desserts. They also have an Illy coffee machine that offers a variety of espresso drinks. The gym is well equipped. The staff was wonderful, friendly and attentive. They offer shuttle service to the airport, metro and pentagon, which made getting around convenient. The on-site restaurant served great food at a reasonable price and there is a coffee shop on-site. Fully enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning next time in the area.

I checked in early last Wednesday and was warmly welcomed and accommodated by Savion and Stephanie because my suite was not ready as I stated above due to my early arrival. Of no fault of theirs, I wanted a different room with accessible features because of a family member. I returned to front desk and while Savion helped another guest Stephanie right away started to search for an accessible room for me. After contacting Head of Housekeeping, she assured of time when the new room would be available. I thanked her and told her I would return at time given. Like clockwork when I returned to front desk my room was ready and Stephanie who was off at the time was calling Lauren who was serving me to ensure my new room was available. Lauren made the process as smooth as possible. Stephanie, Savion, Lauren are ALL STARS and go above and beyond to make guests comfortable. Apart from these ALL STARS the rooms were very clean and spacious and allowed for a wonderful restful evening. Marriott Renaissance Arlington at Capital View will now be my place to stay whenever I am in the DC area not just because of the proximity, cleanliness and comfort but because of the amazing front desk staff of Stephanie, Savion and Lauren that I came into contact with during my stay.

If you're looking for a hotel full of fees and charges. You found the right place. This hotel has a $30 early check-in fee for anyone no matter what your Marriott status is. I was told there's plenty of rooms available but you need to pay. So the philosophy of the management of this hotel especially the general manager Terrance Duvall is to agitate and irritate the customer the minute they enter your establishment. Nothing about this day will make me happy, You basically left a horrible taste in my mouth from the second that I entered your hotel. I do appreciate the opportunity to sit in your lobby and put reviews all over the internet about your ridiculous charges. Just imagine.. if you actually have hospitable principles and when available work with your customers especially Elite members they might actually want to come back they might want to tell others to stay here.

Great weekend, hotel was within 5 miles from the sights in Washington DC. Staff is very friendly and accommodating, they dont growl down when they have to spend 35 minutes solving doubts on tourists traps and so forth. Besides food was excellent and our room was super clean and convenient. Rain dance shower did magic after 10 hours chasing my frenzy wife all over DC. This MArriott is an awesome Hotel, we recommend it without question.

We have stayed at this Renaissance twice prior to flights out of DCA and we experienced excellent service and wonderfult accommodations both times. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, and as often as we stay at Marriott properties, this is the only one, over all the years, that had my room extras waiting for us upon arrival. Sean, who checked us in during our second stay, was so wonderful. I mentioned to him that I couldn’t believe how expensive an Uber was to take us the half mile to the airport before their shuttle began. He took it upon himself to research other options and called us with his findings. I truly appreciated that. He was so welcoming, kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we fly from Reagan next time.

Just finished a stay at this hotel (room 1121) this past Sunday and the property was great. Nice front desk staff, good location close to everything, and the rooms are just fine. Would definitely stay again when I come back. Only thing that’s disappointing is that they didn’t give me my 1,000 checkin points that I’m supposed to receive. I wrote them and the gal I talked to said she didn’t know why it didn’t happen, but she didn’t offer a remedy for it.

The room was spacious and had a lot of storage options. Housekeeping was ok, they are heavy understaffed at the weekends. But the rooms are loud. The walls are as thin as paper, so you need to pray for good neighbors. The doors close with a loud boom and shaking walls. If you have airport (capitol) view, you basically don’t hear anything from the airport, but what you definitely hear and feel are the passenger and freight trains rumbling, squeaking and diesel roaring by. And there are a lot of them. Day and night. The Aircon is so loud that you might need ear plugs if you want to have it on at night. And housekeeping sounds more like a morning tear down crew. The breakfast is decent, but nothing special. It is very basic. And if you did not book it in advance for a good price, they charge you 29 Dollars for it. The club lounge is not very loungy. It always feels stuffed at every corner. And the biggest hiccup: They just close it every weekend. Without information. Without notification. So much about guest appreciation. I would have chosen different if I would have known that before. They have an information about saving the environment and how to get the towels replaced. But they just replace them every single day. What a waste of resources and money. It all just feels like they put the higher brand name on the building to strip you of the most possible money with the less possible effort. 23rd street with nice restaurants is 15 minutes walking. The next Target is about 2 miles away. If you are looking for a clean place with nothing to go to in 10 minutes distance, and you don’t care about the money, I can recommend it.

I am definitely returning. I flew in to town to go to a concert one night and then fly out the next day. It was a perfect location from the airport and the venue. When I walked in I was greeted by Anthony. He helped me with all my 1,000 questions and assisted me with a late check out. Thank you Anthony!! The room was clean. The view of the airport from my room was awesome. The Illy coffee shop on the first floor was awesome and incredibly clean. Then I ordered a salad from the bar late Saturday night. It was one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time. Thanks a ton! I’ll be back!!

***Overall review: *** Excellent experience, I would recommend this location to anyone and I would definitely return! ***Detailed review:*** Getting to the hotel was a challenge, as it is located in Crystal City which is a mix of feeder roads and one way streets. Parking around the outside of the hotel is paid parking which only allows 12 hour parking. The valet is not 12 hours so it is better to self-park, however self-parking is on the lower levels and valet is at the upper levels. I found the property to be modern, classy, and the staff were very personable and professional. Furniture in the lobby area should be removed, swapped with more appropriate furniture for the setting, or at least cleaned. The rest of the hotel appears clean but could use new furniture as some is starting to show wear and tear. The room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the airport and Potomac River. The only bad experience I had was the bar staff seemed slightly overwhelmed and took a long time to be served. They could benefit from adding additional staff on busy nights. Otherwise, the bar staff were friendly and the food was outstanding. ***Summary: *** By no means was I unsatisfied. I believe anyone who stays here for business and/or pleasure will consider this a great experience.

Very attractive hotel. Not a family style hotel but they can accommodate a small family. Provided shuttle service to the Metro all day which made it convenient for us to visit DC and surrounding areas. Nice restaurants within a 10 min walk. Parking is overpriced. The shuttle driver made a detour one night and didn’t pick us up from the Metro. The driver’s cell number should be provided so they be called directly. Good thing another driver was checking the routes and picked us up. We could have walked the 20 mins to the hotel but we had our two young children who were half asleep. The food from room service was very tasty. The view of the capital and the airport made us forget about the small size of the room. Target and several stores are within a 5 min drive south. The fridge didn’t operate all day. It would activate on a 2 hour timer and then shut off. I’ll recommend this hotel for a couple or just a short stay.
