Hotel's Favourite
Located right above the Court House metro, this hotel is in a really convenient location for access to DC and Northern Virginia. There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby too. The staff was helpful and friendly. Currently, they are cleaning rooms every other day but would be happy to provide daily service if requested. I would say the room was comfortable and well-organized. It’s especially convenient to have a full-sized fridge with ice maker. It would have been nice if they provided dish washing liquid. (They likely assume the dish washer is sufficient!!) But the bed was comfortable and the kitchen/bath modern. The breakfast was far more varied and of higher quality than many hotels at this price point. The gym was good and clean. The pool and hot tub were great but the hours are somewhat limiting for anyone wanting to use it for morning exercise.

I recently stayed 2 nights for a business meeting. I checked in online and my room was ready when I arrived. I had a studio suite, which was clean and well equipped but somewhat dated (textured walls). The AC unit was somewhat loud. Only one small bar of soap is provided. There are bottles of liquid in the shower, which I don't care to use. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast, which was pretty standard. There was a fitness center and indoor pool. The fitness center is a little small for the number of people who use it. The property is located conveniently in Arlington, within walking distance of many restaurants.

Marriott needs to ensure there is appropriate staff assigned to their properties. When I arrived for check-in at the Residence Inn by Marriott Arlington Courthouse, there was an angry person ranting about their reservation error to the beleaguered front desk attendant. Unfortunately, because he was apparently the only person working that day, there was no one else to handle the long line of people trying to check in that began to stack up behind the angry person who didn't have the decency to step aside. If there had been a second person working, it would have been easy enough to keep the line moving and deal with the angry person's problem. Instead, those of us who just needed to check in quickly had to wait 30 minutes while the person who'd booked at the wrong hotel and was upset about her own mistake ranted and raved at the poor desk clerk. There should never be just one person working. The room was fine. A little dated, but quite spacious and totally serviceable. The hotel is walkable to downtown Arlington and the subway, and thus very convenient. It was quiet and I slept well. Unfortunately, the only thing I will likely remember about this hotel is the scene at the front desk and the long wait to get to my room after a day of travel.

My wife and I spent 3 nights. The staff was friendly, location was very convenient to the Metro and other decent restaurants. I rated this a 3 because despite multiple complaints we could not get the shower to work. Hot or cold nothing in between

We stayed here during my business trip to DC in early April. The location was convenient to my meeting venue and to other DC sites. As a titanium elite member, I requested an upgrade to a one bedroom suite but was told there was none available. I asked if there was one available at any point during our stay and was given one after our third night. I am allergic to down feathers and bedding so I always request feather free rooms. The first room they gave us was fine but the second room was not feather free so we had to wait a little longer than expected for the room to be ready. We were able to work remotely from our room as it was relatively quiet and comfortable. Kermit Turnquest, the operations manager, was very welcoming and accommodating upon check-in. He made sure the pool opened at some point during our stay as I informed him that one of the reasons we selected this property was because it had a pool. Overall, I recommend this property for its convenience and comfort, especially if you work remotely during your stay.

Stayed here in Apr 2022 with my wife and toddler. Overall we had a nice stay in a 1 BR suite here. Standard Residence Inn amenities of what you would expect. Here are the positives/negatives: Positives: -Very convenient place to stay near DC - Metrorail is right there (Court House) and there are tons of restaurants to walk to along with Whole Foods and the Market Common (Apple store etc) all right there. -Breakfast staff were very friendly and made sure the food was fresh throughout the morning service. -Clean rooms and bathrooms with a Keurig in the kitchen Negatives: -Very narrow underground parking garage -Not specific to this RI, but I really don’t like the bathroom setup where the toilet/shower are separate from the sink - in other words I want the toilet/shower/sink vanity all in one place behind a door so I don’t wake anyone up when using the sink -No bathroom fan -Smallish fitness room but this is balanced out by being in a walkable neighborhood with lots of opportunities for outside exercise weather permitting. -Ice maker was broken - didn’t pursue maintenance just bc we didn’t want anyone in the room -Last night sink overflowed and the garbage disposal was broken - I did call front desk at 8pm and they said maintenance had left for the day - again I didn’t pursue it since we were leaving the next day. I see there are a lot of negative reviews for this property and I’d say give it a try - especially for a family coming to DC and needing a suite hotel with a kitchen that’s metro accessible and close to lots of stuff like Whole Foods. But of course a business traveler on their own might be a little more happy at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View where I typically stay (needed the RI bc I was with my family). That Renaissance has a great restaurant, concierge lounge overlooking DC and the river, great fitness center, etc. Just comes down to what you need.

Feedback from a titanium member who has stayed in marriott all over the world - and am a loyal lover of the brand - Please everybody to avoid this poperty by all means.....or suffer! No sanitizer anywhere in the hotel! Absolutely no covid protocol being followed.. In the midst of the winter, no heating available in one of the rooms! Repetated requests seeking help to no avail - "we do not have staff to attend to this - sorry" was the response. Nobody available for any service! Is this the new marriott standard of service? Apalled as a long term loyal member of the mariott family.... This when i am paying over 315 usd per night for a 19 night stay!!! Disaster!

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for providing feedback on your most recent stay with us. I apologize for the challenges you encountered during your stay with us and for any inconveniences that was caused. Our hotel has many sanitizer dispensers throughout our public areas, we have complimentary disinfecting wipes available upon request, and we have engineers onsite daily to assist with anything that presents itself. Please rest assure knowing this has been addressed with the hotel team to prevent this from reoccurring in the future. Once again, I apologize for the inconveniences and we hope to have an opportunity in the near future to show you a better experience. Thank you for your loyalty to Marriott.

I made the dumb mistake of not calling ahead to find out if the pool is open because ALL the hotel pools are open now!!! Why isn’t this one? All the other places I’ve stayed just require a reservation. It’s that simple. We were going to stay here for a month during our international move. But we won’t stay the week. It’s just that our little one is being super awesome during a tough time and I just wanted her to have a pool to ease the transition. The breakfast is also not great. The room is fine, and the location is convenient, but the lazy management makes me want to move on.

I have been here for 2 days/2 nights so far. The location is GREAT!!! Romeo checked me in and he was really kind and helpful. ALL the other front desk attendants have been sub-par, at best! First, let’s all stop using COVID as THE excuse for crappy service. I got to my room which was less than clean. The dishes had already been put in the cabinets, yet the dishwasher had not finished it’s final wash/dry cycle. There was a sticky substance (syrup?) on the kitchen table and crumbs! Wow! I also went to get a water glass and it had some sort of nasty “something” in the bottom of the glass. Yuck! I went to get the little bottle of dish soap to rehash the dishes only to find it missing. There is usually plenty of soap in these rooms, but there was none! So, I started looking around…no dish soap, no sponge, no dish rag, no popcorn, no toiletries, etc…. And, to top everything, the air conditioner was broken. I went downstairs and asked about all the missing”items”. I was told it was b/c of “COVID”! REALLY! What a lame excuse. But, I was given dish soap for all my troubles. Again, really! My husband and I just stayed in a Residence Inn in Healdsburg, CA a month ago and EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!! The first night I burned up. I stopped by the front desk the next morning at exactly 10 am and asked them if they could fix my ac b/f I returned. I got back at 3 pm and my room was still not “cold” which it should have been! I called downstaIrs and was told they would check with maintenance to see what was done. I was assured they would call me right back. I waited and waited. I finally called them only to be told that maintenance would “call me”. Again, I waited and waited! NO ONE CALLED. I finally called for a THIRD time only to be told that “maintenance could not fix the unit and I would need to move across the hall”. I’m pretty mad at this time b/c I am having to chase down a solution. “Across the hall” ended up being all the way at the other end of the property but on the same floor. 😒 Finally, I’m in a very cool room and praying that my last 2 nights are uneventful! All I can do is pray! BTW… breakfast, which is “grab and go” is OVER by 9:00 am on Saturday and Sundays. Who the heck is up that early on the weekends? Just asking!!!!

Chose hotel for price, proximity and pet friendly designation. Arrived after midnight and forced to sign pet waiver form that charged $100 pet fee which was not mentioned either upfront when reserving or on confirmation. Pet fee was greater than my room rate! What was mentioned on confirm was $16 parking fee. Night clerk had me sign a parking form that noted a $22 fee. Signed both forms under duress and noted my issues and clerk said manager would be there in am to address both. Upon entering room it smelled of pungent takeout. I also found a bobby pin on bedroom carpet and safety pin on bathroom floor. Spoke w/ manager in am. She reduced parking to $16 and pet fee to $50 on the spot and agreed to check the website to see if fee was clearly stated or not then reduce further if not. Two days later, no follow up. This sneaky pet fee, even if somewhere in the fine print should be disclosed prominently upfront as no one would choose a $90 room that really costs $190. And why disclose what parking costs and not pet fee which is over 6x more?
