The rate was reasonable and the location was good because of the access to the Metro. Had to purchase super glue to repair nightstand drawer and sliding door towel bar for the shower. Also, had to reassemble the lamp assembly next to the desk. Other than that the room was OK. The neighborhood was fairly safe and quiet the week...

Just as the reviews said, the room was clean and the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The motel is 5 minutes walk from the metro station, very convenient to go to downtown where traffic is terrible and parking is expensive. Close to restaurants and shopping center. Very nice and safe neighborhood. Will definitely go back if...

This is the cheapest decent motel that is close to the metro and to D.C. that offers free parking. The room was clean and the continental breakfast adequate. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. It is close to a few budget restaurants. There is a 7-11 down the street. The only thing that some people may not like is that the...

I was in town for a night to view the cherry blossoms in Washington DC. Hotels in DC area were not very affordable, but we hit the jackpot with Highlander motel. The sheets were washed but not the cleanest - other than that it was great! The breakfast was a basic croissant-bagel-toast-jelly-butter-coffee-cookie-kind, but was reasonable good. The neighborhood is really...

When you see this motel's exterior and its room rate (less than half the cost of hotels nearby), you may think it must be a dive. You'd be wrong. The staff was friendly and helpful, and my room was great - clean, well equipped: tiled stall shower with glass doors, granite countertops, mini-fridge, and internet access. The light continental breakfast...

Just can’t beat the value of the Highlander Motel. Still a "4" for value. Rooms are no frills, a bit outdated in terms of furnishings, but clean and serviced daily. Bathrooms have been updated. It is just a block or two from the Virginia Square Metro, and an easy walk to downtown Clarendon (1/2 mile) or Ballston (mile). There are...

Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. We checked into room 24 and only chose this hotel because it was a 4 star. Wow I was shocked. Vick roaches in the refrigerator, hair in the shower sink and toilet. The sink smelled like throw up. There was feces from the previous people on the bottom of the toilet...

Desk Clerk apoliogized, offered to move you to another room , Offered to clean the room, you declined and She refunded your Money. We have scheduled Exterminator Service. Sometimes people bring them. (not saying you ) which we can not control. This is not our normal. Again we apologize.

We live in the neighborhood behind the Highlander. We were celebrating my mother's 100th birthday and needed extra beds for out-of-town guests. They just wanted some place that was clean and relatively comfortable nearby. The Highlander exceeded all our guests' expectations. Every one raved about how much they liked it - and said the Highlander would be their "go to"...

I have stayed at this motel before, and find it quite consistent. It is: a low-cost, no-frills clean place to stay in Arlington. If you want pretty modern finishes and the standard types of amenities of a business hotel - coffee maker, gym, pool, etc - this is NOT the place for you. The rooms have a half-height fridge, and...

We stayed at the Highlander Motel while visiting Washington DC for a week. The price was very reasonable, the room was clean and quiet, and the metro was a couple of blocks down the street. A mini-fridge is provided so we supplemented the fruit, coffee/tea, and toast provided with cereal and milk brought from home and ate in our room....
