Very expensive hotel with no amenities. No free water(even as a Marriott Member) or coffee in the lobby. Expensive bar ($16 for small pour of cheap wine) and "restaurant" ($19 for breakfast buffet-lots of food but what was supposed to be hot foods were room temperature at best). No housekeeping unless you ask for it --we had to call the front desk for a luggage rack and another chair for the stupid table that you can raise but it got stuck high and we couldn't lower it again. Bathroom was clean, good shower head but not always hot water. Bed was comfortable but bottom sheets were flat, not fitted, so they kept coming off during the night. Sofa was very uncomfortable to sit-I know sofa beds are not the best but this was worse. Outside patio area was closed (under construction?) so nowhere close to sit outside in the nice weather. Mini Fridge was adequate but no microwave??? We have stayed in several other hotels in the area and although they are all fairly expensive if you want to be close to Old Town and the parking is very expensive in all the Old Town places, the other hotels have more amenities. I would not plan to stay here again. …
The service at the Sheraton was exceptional. There was absolutely no issue that was not addressed timely and with satisfactory results. We were particulary impressed with how the girl on front desk (Riddhi) anticipated. Inspite of lot of chaos created by the guest.. seeing her working everyday morning to evening with same energy is impressive…I personally think she is doing an amazing job and hopefully get rewarded for her work by management because it is very difficult to find help and she is in, also the place is newly renovated and still working on building hope it ends soon so we can plan our next stay ☺️the bar staff wasn’t friendly he seems like new in the property, but there are many restaurants around where you can visit😊
Stayed at this Hotel for Business for 8 days. They said that due to Covid, they would not clean the rooms daily. I was ok with that. On the 6th day I asked for Toilet Paper and clean towels. I thought that they would come into the room and add the toilet paper and clean towels along with emptying out the trash. Nope! No one ever came into the room empty trash cans. They laid the clean towels right inside the room and didn't leave any toilet paper. I had to go to the front desk to ask for toilet paper myself. Then they gave me 1 roll. Since they allow pets, the room had an odor. Someone also left the removeable shower head on and the bathroom flooded when I first turned it on. I had to use some of my clean towels to clean that up. (Yeah, I laughed about it afterwards). There was a mini fridge but no microwaves. It would have been nice to be able to heat something up to eat after a long day at work!! I would never stay there again!…
We stayed at the Sheraton Suites for business and here are the pros and cons Pros Location was wonderful...just a few blocks from King Street and close to the Potomac The suites have been renovated Check in was quick and they acknowledged our Gold Elite status and offered a late check out There is a shuttle from DCA to the hotel which is convenient Cons The shuttle from the airport took a long time. They said he would arrive in 10 minutes and it was more like 25 minutes. We requested a higher floor away from the elevator and we were told that could not be accommodated. The heat in the room worked sporadically and we found ourselves cold off and on and were actually in layers in the room Although the room was renovated, you can see where some things were from the older model and the room had some mold because we were sneezing in the morning every time the heat came on When we took a shower the faucet in the other room was leaking sewage. No one would pick up the phone so we had to go downstairs. They eventually had someone come up and fix it where it might have been easier to move our room Overall, we would think twice before going again until some basic things are resolved.…
Always have had great experiences staying at this property. Small complaints but the most important thing is that the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and staff was friendly. If those are the most important things to you, stop reading here. We always stay here for the conventions nearby and next year will be no different! On to the complaints: Hotel was recently renovated but key things are missing. Microwaves being removed was the biggest one, the counter space is still there and there is a small sink but its pointless without. The furniture has been replaced with a more "modern" look but functionality wise they don't make sense. you have a large circular dining table that electronically raises and lowers for no reason and a single uncomfortable wire chair? The pull out sofa has back cushions that only run halfway? The lamps all have two settings but both have the same brightness and are very awkward to turn on/off. There is a lack of usb & power outlets in the bedroom area, only ones available were on the small desk clock. The TV's are new but don't have the smart connectivity to youtube & streaming services. Lastly, $20 is very expensive for what you get for breakfast. If you aren't a platinum or higher bonvoy member and getting the free vouchers, skip the breakfast. Again, these complaints are minor and won't affect your stay unless you're cooped inside the room all day long. Its just disappointing when you compare the hotel to other properties in the Marriott umbrella even some in lower tiers.…
Katsucon is an annual pilgrimage for our family. Our younger daughter is a member of the Cosplay Community so Katsucon is a must! Sadly, COVID prevented the annual convention from happening for the past two years. In fact, I was not sure thé évent would actually happen this year so I procrastinated booking a room. When I finally did there were no rooms to be found in National Harbor. I was so disappointed, until we checked into the Sheraton. What a lovely hotel! Staff are SUPER friendly and very committed to guests. From James the bartender to the lovely front desk manager who may sadly soon be returning to Thailand, everyone was helpful and genuinely hospitable. Restaurant on property was terrific, wine and beer selection ample, as a Bonvoy Elite member we opted for breakfast vouchers when we checked in. So glad we did! The buffet was hearty, included healthy choices and juice and coffee were always replenished without having to ask. Beds were comfy, rooms were very clean and the location ideal for sightseeing in Old Alexandria. We are runners so the running paths along the Potomac were convenient and scenic. A ten star stay! The added bonus? So many young people from the Con stayed here as well which gave us the opportunity to admire and applaud their creativity and commitment to their craft. Can’t wait to be back next year! Booking right after I hit submit!…
Only one person at this hotel understood the concept of customer service - Kudos to William for his willingness to help and provide outstanding service when others just didn’t care. No housekeeping service, overpriced and mediocre breakfast buffet and lack of customer service made this a lackluster stay. Several customer facing employees could not understand English so they struggled to assist, which only added to our frustration. We surely will not be back.
I loved this hotel, it was wonderful and the room they provided was to die for. We were perpendicular to the airplanes arriving over the Woodrow Wilson bridge. The room had two TV's and a nice bed, the room was the perfect size for a weekend getaway and just right for our return from a night out shopping, spending time together. The breakfast was adequate, serving a purpose so we did not have to leave our room, milking the last bit of freedom from kids. Hotels in Alexandria are tricky because they can be quite expensive and most people really want to stay closer to the water. I will be returning to this Hotel soon for another weekend stay cation.
It was my second time in the past 8 months staying at this property visiting family. An All Suites hotel with a small living area with marble table pull out queen sofa and King bed in bedroom. The hotel looks to have been recently renovated in the recent past. Request a room with a Potomac river view. The hotel is about 4 blocks from the parks along the river and a 15-20minute walk to the King Street area. There are restaraunts, coffee shop pub, and other dining options around the corner about a 3-5 minute walk. The hotel was very quiet both visits the rooms were great for a couple or a couple and small child to sleep on the pullout. A few things I would add to room are utensils, a microwave so that you could dine in room. There is a small refrigerator, but keep in mind this does not have a kitchen like a Residence Inn. Overall I recommend this property if you don't mind being a good walk from King Street.…
One night stay with a Southwest Airlines voucher. Front desk had only one staffer, a hard working and seemingly competent woman but who was trying to do two or three things at once and also was ill trained re the voucher. Thus, checking in was slow and getting a shuttle from the airport did not work because it was very hard to reach her and thus we missed the shuttle (which went only hourly). The room was clean and nice.
