Awesome hotel staff! This is my favorite hotel to stay in the DC metro ares when Im visiting friends, family or for work. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are nice & tidy. This is such a great non smoking hotel which is close a ton of food and retail stores. Some of my bed sleep comes from my stays here.
A great stay for a getaway weekend. Beautiful hotel and a good location for walking around Alexandria. Everything was clean and hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Complementary breakfast was good. Love Residence Inns for spacious room and convenient kitchen.
I'm not a smoker. So I was shocked to see a $250 charge my card. It's time consuming to even have to escalate the matter. I also paid a fee to park, and could not find parking anywhere on the deck. My stay was fine otherwise but I'm absolutely disgusted by this.
The staff was exceptionally helpful when we arrived for a multi-day bike excursion with piles of luggage and a short timeline to get to an appointment to pick up bikes before the rental company closed for the day.
Pros. Good location with fairly easy access to Whole Foods, cinema, cvs, restaurants. Fairly good room except the living room had a strange smell in one of the corners. Might be the carpet since they allow pets. Amazon locker available onsite which is convenient. Staff was nice. Cons. A bit out of the way from old town Alexandria. Weird smell in living room carpet. Cleaning staff not very thorough (our cleaner put the whole pan and contents of the pan in the dishwasher (eggs and all!) and ran it!
We stayed for a month while visiting our children and grandchildren. The staff were lovely, so willing to help with everything. In particular, thanks to Falen Chirmai for arranging our extended stay !! Elliott at the front desk was so kind and willing to do anything we asked for....and Alexus. I'm sure there were many behind the scenes, but we thank you ALL for a lovely visit. We will recommend to others and will be back. Also the room was kept so clean. KUDOS
My dad recently stayed at this hotel and the hotel was in a very accessible location and a close uber ride to King Street. He was able to walk to coffee and even walk to King St. to entertain himself while I was at work. The staff here was great. Elliot who was working at the front desk one evening really impressed my dad. One evening while my dad was here he had come downstairs to buy some chocolate (he didn't get dessert at dinner lol) and only brought a $5 and was a little short, Instead of making my dad go back upstairs to pay the difference, Elliot pulled out his wallet and paid the difference. While it was less than a dollar and not a big deal to most it really impressed my dad as he said "you don't get that service often these days." So thank you Elliot for making an old man's evening with his daughter even better!…
I've been very happy staying at this hotel through Hotels.com reservations. I will say that it's a little inconsistent how the reservations come through, so I'm hoping Hotels.com will fix that. So far as the property itself, I'd like to recommend it and most especially Alexis -who has been sticking around the hotel during a snowstorm to be able to work for us. As one of the better customer service agents I've come across, this young lady fixed my problem wherein I booked the other residence inn, which was an accident on my part. Beyond that, I've found her to be exceptionally intelligent, present and helpful in a way that so few hotel staff ever are. I'd like to recommend Alexis for an award. I'd love to have her work for me if I had a company! She's a breath of fresh air and a clear sign that Marriott knows what they're doing with hiring workers. Thanks Marriott, for continuing to understand why we choose your hotels above all others. The reason is people like Alexis! Regards, Joan DeLuca…
Nothing bad to say about the facility. Rooms are attractive, clean and well equipted. Secure parking is a plus. Restaurants are nearby as well. Easy on and off the I-95 corridor. However, a certain element of late night domestic squablers and door slammers is a recurring theme for us...a societal comment, not a hotel criticism.
We needed to get away for an evening and picked the Residence Inn by Marriott Alexandria Old Town South at Carlyle. The front desk staff was friendly, the room was well stocked with what we needed, and a great location. The only thing is there isn't any street parking close by.
