Great stay at this Homewood Suites. Good location, and room and common areas very clean. Responsive to all questions and requests. Staff really went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. A special shout out to Urania at the front desk who was a tireless worker. She always had a smile on her face and helped us in finding restaurants in the area. Thank you!
Hotel was clean, staff was courteous, rooms were great size. Breakfast looked amazing, we had other plans during the morning hours but if we hadn’t we would have eaten there. It was quiet all the time. Never heard anything at night.
Checked into this hotel after a visit to museum in Washington DC on a solo trip. Immediately upon arrival the staff was welcoming and accommodating. The facility was well-maintained spacious and had a very welcoming environment. I would recommend this facility to anyone who asked and the next time I’m in the Washington/ Virginia area this will be my hotel of choice
The hotel is great for an extended stay, convenient to everything, including downtown DC and Alexandria. But what sets it apart is the genuine hospitality of the staff. Every single person we encountered was friendly and warm, and it didn't seem like it was just because it was their job or coaching. We have stayed at a hundred hotels and this is the best staff we have ever seen.
We were amazed at the quality of this facility for its price! We have stayed at much more expensive places that did not offer the friendliness, cleanliness, amenities, nor ease-of-access that Homewood Suites provided. I cannot stress enough how gracious all of the staff was toward my family, and the quick and simple access to the city was a huge bonus as well! Thank you for making this quick trip to DC a fabulous one.. we will definitely stay here on future visits!!!
We arrived on Saturday afternoon to a wet carpet and a leaking refrigerator. The room smelled musty which signaled to us that the room wasn't checked before we arrived. We reported the problem to the front desk and a maintenance man came in and wiped up the kitchen floor and put a towel on the wet carpet to soak up the water. He said that someone would be back tomorrow to empty the overflow pan in the refrigerator. No one came back until we again reported water leakage in the kitchen. They then came in and emptied the overflow pan in the refrigerator but did nothing about the musty smell in the room or the wet carpet. Now we are at Monday, and we have more water on the kitchen floor and the carpet still not drying. Finally, after another complaint to the front desk, the refrigerator was changed, which eliminated the water on the kitchen floor but the carpet remained wet and the room remained musty smelling. Nothing was done about that until the next day when we again complained about the smell in the room. At that point, who we believe was the head of maintenance, arrived. He immediately, apologized for the delay in taking care of our issue and brought a blower first thing the next morning so it could dry the carpet while we were out sightseeing. The carpet is now dry but we still have to spray for the diminished musty smell with spray the maintenance chief left with us. I will give the hotel credit for a courteous staff and the meals they provided throughout the week.…
We were unsure of how open eateries in VA was during covid, so we opted for a 1 bedroom king suite with full kitchen for our 3 night stay. We had a problem with the air conditioner which was quickly addressed by maintenance and the unit replaced entirely! The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Loved that the bedroom was separated from the "living room area". Breakfast was hot and a good variety every morning. Coffee was always available and they also had a small inhouse store. Front desk was very friendly and super helpful in their suggestions and directions where to eat. Location to the nearest grocery store and restaurants was just a block or so up the road.
It was a heavy smoke smell inside the room. Pillows, sheets, everything was smelly. The beds were old and uncomfortable. Bathroom and towels were clean. The breakfast was delicious, good breakfast service.
The staff at this hotel is great! Martha and the front desk ladies were all very helpful and friendly! WiFi worked well, we streamed Netflix and YouTube for the kids at night with no problems. Room was clean. Hotel is quite and our room had nice view of some mature trees over the pool. We will go back to stay there if need it.
Unfortunately our two night stay ended early due to our room (226) being infested with bedbugs. We didn’t find out about until the next morning when one was crawling on my sister. When she killed it and saw blood she knew it was a bedbug. Upon further inspection of inside the pillow case she found more along with long strings of hair that didn’t belong to her. I immediately checked my bed and sure enough there were smaller bugs that was crawling in my bed. We took pictures and videos as evidence and immediately alerted the front desk.We were refunded for the night stay and was given an apology but she didn’t seem surprised about the issue. None the less our trip was ruined as we had to rid clothing we slept in as well as figure out how not to bring any bedbugs home with us. I know there is a risk of coming in contact with bedbugs when staying at hotels due to the traffics of folks coming and going but I feel that the housekeeping staff should be trained and perform inspections to help reduce the risk before it becomes a bigger issue.…
