What a perfect location!!! The back porch of the house looks out on rolling farmland, a pond, stream, horses grazing, etc. Very tranquil. But it's about a two minute drive to the middle of town. Cindy is wonderful--extremely sociable and helpful but not intrusive in the least. Her breakfasts are to die for and she will make virtually anything you want and lots of it!!! We loved sitting on the back porch and saw two gorgeous sunrises there. We would certainly return if in the area.
My husband and I stayed at Black's Fort Inn B&B inSeptember 2020. Cindy was waiting for us with cookies and beverages. We were in town to cycle the Virginia Creeper Trail which you can practically see from her property. The place was clean and very comfortable. It was easy to relax while sitting on the back porch listening to the waterfall, and watching the horses graze. She also has a piano in the living room which we enjoyed playing...there is plenty of sheet music inside the bench-seat. There is a small fridge in the dining room which we were allowed use, as we brought along small snacks that required refrigeration. Breakfasts were plentiful with eggs, toast, sausage, bacon....she really catered to our preferences, even making homemade biscuits! The bed was comfortable and the bathroom looked like new. Cindy wore gloves and a mask, maintained safe distance and was adhering to all Covid recommendations that I am aware of, while being hospitable and friendly. . Cindy was easy to work with and we kept in touch via text as to our arrival time. I would definitely stay there again.…
How can a make a reservation or talk with the owner if their mailbox is full? I really would like to visit in September, but don’t know how to contact them. What else can I do. This is very frustrating!
My husband and I stayed at Black’s Fort Inn while on a recent trip to Abingdon. The Inn is very quaint and relaxing. I loved sitting on the back porch. The owner could not have been more responsive. Cindy was awesome. We would love to stay again if back in the area.
My husband and I recently stayed at Black's Fort Inn on our way to Tennessee. Cindy is absolutely LOVELY!! She could not have been more warm, friendly or helpful. However when we arrived on a cold, rainy, dark evening the place was quite chilly. We also wondered why our room was "heated" by a tiny space heater in the bathroom when it appeared the house had central heating. After a wonderfully hot shower we crawled into a spacious and comfy bed. Cindy treated us to pumpkin waffles the next morning that were delicious! She wanted to make MORE food for us but we begged her not too! The location of Black's Fort Inn to the Virginia Creeper Trail was a big draw for us and we spent some time on the trail after breakfast before continuing on our way.
