This place is awesome!. The folks there are friendly, and made the weekend just great. The rooms was great as well. The building is historic and therefore old but there have made the most of the structure. The bathrooms are tiled and the shower was really nice.

Gorgeous architecture, rich with history. Beautiful, heated indoor poor and huge, amazing hot tub. Great restaurant with very good food. Our room was attractive but the smallest hotel/inn room I've ever stayed in. The rooms vary from what I've been told so I would recommend inquiring about the size of your room if that is a concern.

We've had the opportunity to stay at The Martha several times over the years and have never been disappointed. We have also never been "wowed." The hotel / spa is no doubt the best luxury venue in southwest Virginia. That being said, the accommodations do not match the cost. We will return because we love Abingdon and this is the...

Pleasant, accommodating, relaxing weekend stay. We enjoyed a theater show, dinner and drinks afterward at the theater, walked back to our room for an outdoor hot tub and indoor dip in the heated pool. We had drinks service at the hot tub so thank you Martha for that. Enjo ut ed a workout and hot tub the next morning before...

This is a beautiful historic property, very centrally located to shops and restaurants, but we were disappointed in the quality of our accommodations. Parking was a bit difficult; we had to park quite a ways down in the lot and hike around the side of the building (valet parking is available but there was a line). We arrived Saturday evening...

The food at restaurant was wonderful ! We ate there all 3 evenings we were in town. Good variety, lovely presentation , and skilled staff. We ate at the 5 o'clock hour on weekends and had no difficulty with reservations. Breakfast was a buffet and adequate but not special . I believe breakfast was included .

The hotel is grand, everyone will tell you that. But highest praise goes to Joe Regan, one of the chefs. My husband does not tolerate pepper and often has limited menu choices. When presented with this situation, Mr. Regan came out of the kitchen and discussed what he could that night to modify preparation. For him, it was not a...

Growing up in Abingdon, I studied the history of the Martha Washington and had always wanted to stay there as a guest. With shows scheduled at the Barter Theatre two nights in a row, this was the perfect time to experience the hotel as a guest. I was disappointed to find dirt and dust thick on the baseboards behind the...

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary and her birthday in Abingdon, electing to stay at "The Martha." I had made pre-arrangements with the staff to have chocolate strawberries in the room when we got there. This did not happen. When I went to talk to the staff about the issue, I was told that, "well, at least you won't...

The 3 of us stayed at this beautiful hotel and was not Disappointed. It was very tastefully decorated for the holidays and the staff very helpful. My only complaint the bar closing so early. The breakfast was good and location great for a walk across the street to the Barter Theater.
