Very nice stay at the Driskill. We went for business but stayed over a. Night to have some fun. Hotel is walking distance to everything.. I booked 3 rooms for myself and employees. The basic rooms are pretty , comfortable but small. We did the balcony room because we knew we would need more space for employees and friends to... More

First, let me say that I unabashedly and unapologetically LOVE THE DRISKILL. I have stayed here twice in the past two months and it is becoming one of my very favorite hotels anywhere. The hotel was built in 1886 and like any of us might be if we were so lucky to make it to 130 years old, there are... More

Recently, while visiting family in Austin,we chose to stay in the downtown Driskill. From the moment we walked through the massive front door until we left, we enjoyed excellent service. The room decor is elegant and accommodating. The hallways on the fourth floor are lined with art work, which adds to your walk from your room to the elevator. We... More

As soon as you walk into the very impressive lobby, you notice a pleasant smell, kinda like dryer sheets. We had a room on the 12th floor, which we thought was going to have a fantastic view, but just looked out onto another tall building. We did have a discounted priced room, so I'm not that surprised. The lobby and... More

I reserved two vintage rooms over Thanksgiving of 2016 for my wife and two daughters (16 and 17). The Driskill is an older vintage hotel built in 1886, and the location is right on 6th street. The hotel lobby is impressive. We all agreed that the hotel had a feel of being on something like the Titanic. The staff was... More

We had a wedding reception and then stayed at this beautiful 1886 Hotel with incredible architecture and Texas political history. (Deal makings by LBJ in the Jim Hogg room.) Tall ceilings with ornate columns with marble floors and gorgeous accents. Rooms were comfortable and updated (as much as you can update a 100 year old property). The staff was friendly... More
