This motel is not luxurious, but is really awesome and my go to choice in Austin. It’s clean, well maintained and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The location is fantastic with plenty of unique shopping, great restaurants and entertainment spots, there is no need to go far to have a good time! The best part is parking at the motel if free and abundant! The pool with a bar and music is so nice. There are plenty of nice outdoor spaces to hang out. A restaurant is right next door that serves breakfast.

Our friends recommended this motel as funky (in a good way) retro and well located place to stay in Austin. It exceeded our expectations with the nice size, very clean & comfortable rooms and bed. We really enjoyed the partner restaurants Jo Jo's & Jo's, so much so that when we went looking for dinner we ended up back there even though we were there for lunch. Nice pool and lounge set ups. It was quiet as we had a room further up the hill and away from the busy strip. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Austin. Oh, we also hit third Thursdays so there was a band at the pool and cool happenings. Thanks!

Wish I was still there! Comfortable room. Great walkable neighborhood with Joann’s Fine Foods and Jo’s right there. Best of all the staff are the most thoughtful and kindest you’ll find anywhere. A special place for sure.

Hands down one of the coolest places in Austin. As things around town change, Austin Motel stays updated, but still gives you that “Old Austin” feel. I grew up in Austin and visit often. I don’t think I’ll stay anywhere else. Location, vibe and robes are all on point. Can’t wait to come back.

Stopped here for the weekend to visit Motoamerica. Really happy with our stay. The place is chocked full of charm, very clean, comfortable, and the staff is very courteous. Walking/scooting distance to anything downtown. We'll continue to stay here unless it's booked up!

We love staying at Austin Motel! It's got a chill relaxed vibe and is right by everything. The staff is always super accommodating and nice. We'll definitely be back. It's perfect for dogs vs going on a hotel elevator/lobby. I highly recommend a Belgian Bomber at Jos Coffee and the chicken enchiladas at Joann's!

Headed to Austin for my first time with my husband (a native Texan) & this was our first experience staying together in Austin. We wanted to check the area to see if it’s a place we’d like to move our family to actually. We had several different friend groups who live in the Austin area each tell us 3 hotels they loved & the common hotel for all the people we asked was the Austin Motel. I cannot describe how deeply staying here impacted our opinion of Austin started out. Upon our late in the evening arrival, we were greeted with the friendliest desk attendant at check in. We headed to our room which was such a simply (& perfect) designed room which was also very clean. I’m a hard one to impress when it comes to cleanliness. Since it had been forever since my husband had been to Austin & since I’ve never been, we thought we’d ask the desk attendant where might we find the best tacos & margs that time of night. She pointed us to the pool bar for a drink which had some SMASHIN jalapeño margs to go for me & a taco shop not far from the hotel (had to drive to it). The rest of our taco experiences could only pale in comparison to the place she sent us (El Taccorido). She gave us speakeasy recs & tips because we were looking for the locals experience, not the touristy one & though we were too tired that evening to go back out & too booked the rest of the trip, we will def hit those spots next trip. We were able to hit a film at the pool on our way back in one night & it was so perfect. We loved Austin, the location of the motel & all the recs we were able to go to. Pretty sure we’ve decided to make Austin our home from that trip. We will def go back to the Austin Motel though regardless! I highly recommend!…
