We stayed at the Highland for 2 nights during Spring Break with our granddaughter. The motel is older, and our room was worn, but it was reasonably clean, smelled fresh - not stale or smokey, and there was plenty of hot water for our use. The beds were comfortable and had a variety of pillow firmnesses to choose from. Cable...

I've stayed here twice and both times have been delightful. The bed was extremely comfortable with good linens, the shower was hot and strong, ac worked well, and the tv had plenty of channels. Everything was clean and I enjoyed having a love seat in my room. Sam is personable and helpful and I felt completely safe staying alone. The...

Met Sam 1 yr ago when son and I first checked out SRSU. We didn't stay that time as we had reservations elsewhere. During subsequent revisits to university, we stayed other places in Alpine. Since my son started college recently, I've now stayed at Sam's about 10 nights. Pretty? Not really. Who cares? Value? Hell yes. Comfort? Yes. Quiet? Yes....

I was initially drawn in by the picture of what I thought was a quaint hotel at a great price with good reviews. The old saying of you get what you pay for is true. I chose this because other motels had awful reviews and were booked up except for one which was quite expensive. The picture on trip advisor...

Highland Inn is your basic motel. Good price, clean, and Sam the owner does everything possible to make you feel welcome. There are fancier hotels in town but if you are truly enjoying all that Big Bend has to offer you are not hanging out in your room all day.

This small hotel is great hotel. It is locally owned and operated the old fashiined way. Its not a luxury hotel but it is very safe, quiet, very clean and good service. It is located very close to downtown shopping and activities. Part of the hotel only has one floor so you can get a good nights rest with out...

Sam is great local folk! This room was great! Nice fridge, TV and the bed was sooooo comfortable. I loved the shower-lots of hot hot water and lots of water pressure!!! I traveled alone (female) with a dog and it was perfect...not extra charge for my little doggie either! Stay with Highland!!!

Great value. Tile floors that feel clean, firm beds, perfectly functional sink, shower, and toilet. Sam, the innkeeper, oozes hospitality and niceness. The place feels amazingly safe. The only drawback is the train track on the south side of the hotel ... but it is the same train track that runs alongside every other hotel in Alpine, so no biggie....

The Highland Inn provides a cheap, good quality room in Alpine. The rooms aren't fancy, but they are very clean and comfortable. The couch in the king room was a plus, as was the microwave and mini fridge. You can tell the owner is trying to renovate this property using a rustic West Texas theme and is doing a good...

The Highland Inn is exactly the type of place you want to stay if you are looking for a clean, friendly hotel in Alpine. There are no bells and whistles (unless you count the train whistle outside). The staff is very accommodating and nice. They have fresh, hot coffee in the mornings (no coffee maker in the room). It's an...
