Exactly what you expect for 50$ a night. Sheets towels are clean, the check-in staff efficient and the included breakfast at the diner is a garunteed hangover cure. The building is dated and needs a good scrubbing, so don't spend all your time inside. Go out to gusy up for a pizza, and check out the railroad blues bar for... More

We stayed here during the Alpine Art Festival Breakfast at the nearby diner is included and is totally adequate. Bang for. Your buck is the name of the game at this place. It was pretty quiet too. They have a fitness room that is available most hours.

This is a clean, no frills motel. Decent amenities with a fridge and a microwave with flatscreen TV, pleasing decor and comfortable beds. Check in at the 24hr diner next door (very limited dinner menu, look elsewhere for dinner unless you only want a burger and then stagger to bed), for which you are also given a coupon for breakfast.... Check-in via Penny's Diner wasn't a welcoming start. By the end of the weekend it was clear the whole show is run by kids. I understand that small towns provide limited personnel options, but basic business 101 makes it clear...DON'T SHRUG YOUR SHOULDERS and say "I dunno" when a customer asks you a question. I might have overlooked an initial... More

We stayed for 3 nights and it was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The other guests were friendly as well as the staff. The room had a mini fridge and microwave. Breakfast was included at Penny's across the parking lot. Choice of classic (2 eggs, choice of meat, hash browns and toast) or choice of pancakes or french toast with... More

We were going to stay in Marfa but it was all booked up, and ended up staying in Alpine. I'm glad we did because Alpine seemed to have so much more to offer. Our stay was at the Oak Tree Inn. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is clean and offers your basics. Our room has... More

This is a clean, affordable place to stay. I love that they give you a full free breakfast at Penny's diner next door. I got to use the workout room and it was very nice. This will be my new place to stay when I visit Alpine.

My room was clean. Located last one in the back on the first floor. Thought there might be noise during the night from people coming and going but, never heard a thing. I was in town with meetings and did not spend very much time in the room, just a place to sleep which it provided at a reasonable cost.... More

Based on the Oak Tree Inn and Penny Diner web site, we thought this was going to be a great place to stay and that we would do future business with them in those locations at which they exist. Were we ever wrong as can be observed by this review!! Yes, we should have left the first day based on... More
