Yes the bathroom is down the hall. There is no TV in your room. There is a inviting lobby. Good conversation with other guests, very friendly staff, resonable rates and you can walk every where in Ashland. I keep comming back.

The Columbia is more of a rooming house than a hotel. The room we got was tiny. There was no A/C/ The bed was small than a queen even though they claim otherwise. And it was more of a cot than a bed. The bathroom is down the hall. But they only give you tiny threadbear towels and no robe....

Thank you for your feedback. It doesn't sound like it was a good fit for you. We do not offer cots in our rooms. We do offer queen beds, double beds, and some rooms come with a day-bed in addition to a queen depending on the room type you select. To our knowledge, there is no pay-parking for overnight use...

We're staying here right now. Room is charming and beds comfy but DO NOT stay here if you have to stay on the street side. After 7:30 in the morning the traffic noise is too much to ignore and the busses on the street make the beds and windows shake. Also no breakfast or coffee in the morning. All for...

Thank you for your feedback. I myself am a light sleeper, and would probably prefer a room off the street, though the room you described is one of our most requested guest rooms because people love the full wall of windows overlooking the downtown and the views beyond. We serve locally-roasted coffee every morning until mid-day in our skylit lobby,...

I had to cancel because of illness of one of our party, yet they still charged the full room rate as a deposit. Policy is a two week cancellation. When I asked about planning an illness two weeks in advance they just said they had to charge the cancellation charge. Totally unfair especially since on a busy weekend they will...

It's never fun to have to give up your deposit when your plans change unexpectedly. The rooms that you cancelled with 5 days notice have not been fully re-rented, and we may have to discount them at this late date. It's a loss for you and for the hotel, but as a show of good faith we would like to...

The room was nice, comfortable, more than big enough to accommodate my wife, my step-daughter, and myself. I slept pretty soundly. Our room had Very Creaky Floors. Internet connectivity was sketchy and there was no phone in the room - normally, I wouldn't care about this but on this trip, I had to do some business so this was a...

Thank you for your great feedback. As the oldest hotel in Ashland, built in 1910, the property is full of character and is very unique. People today are not accustomed to the layouts and design choices of that era, because very few such buildings still exist today that have not been completely modernized. We feel that the charm of the...

The Columbia is perfect for playgoers - two blocks from the theaters, free parking, with friendly staff. Everything is within walking distance, rooms are comfortable and clean. Nice sitting area and even if you get a room without a bathroom, shared bathroom facilities are close by and hardly ever occupied. Plus, great prices.

You should know this hotel is not for everyone. I gave it an average simply because the Cons were really low and the Pros were really high. The major CONS were (1) No AC, (2) bathrooms down the hall and (3) parking. PROS: (1) lovely, comfy, clean beds, (2) location downtown is close to the 'action' (3) friendly staff. (4)...

Thank you for your very detailed review. I'm sure that travelers will benefit from it. I saw that your stay coincided with some high temperatures in Ashland, but don't worry because we've added even more air-conditioned rooms this year. I recommend that you request one of them for your future stays should you be arriving in traditionally warm times. Again,...

We have stayed at the Columbia each of the last seven years we have visited the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and its close proximity to OSF in downtown Ashland is why you would stay there. Less than half a block from the famous Ashland Springs Hotel, it's easy to walk to and from the plays in five minutes or so. The...

We stayed in a (the?) "Courtyard Queen" room, which had a private bath (note that most rooms in this hotel don't) and A/C (not always important, but on our visit the second weekend in August, it was high 90s / low 100s), and we were quite satisfied with it. You're walking distance to everything, and it had the historic charm...

I almost hate to write a positive review, because I love this hotel and stay at it every summer and kind of don't want to let the secret out. But the truth is the location can't be beat, and they're even upgrading the facilities (I was way surprised to have wifi this year) and it's a really good value hotel....
