i was greeted by a guy called unal.then i met turgay. that looked after me all the way threw as i was alone he showed me around bodrum as it was my first time,there the room i was given first i wasent happy with then when i was given the secound room the shower wasent working so i changed again.... Returning to Mels hotel for the 7th year with 10 girlfriends - sorry to say the area and hotel has gone downhill. As always, Suleyman the owner and the 3 staff - Unal, Turgay and Halil....were wonderful and could not do enough for us. We treated the hotel as our own, put our own music on, had parties, etc..... but... More

my husband and myself had the misfortune to stay here in 2010 july.The most awful room dirty, scruffy and unkept,also dangerous with wires hanging out.The wardrobe so small you had to hang your clothes sideways. the bathroom lol was so small with no shower curtain so water all over the floor. on arrival we were greeted by a horrible man who had a swarm of horrible followers they were all dancing around the bars to some what horrible music they were all with their tops off at 2am taking no notice of any quests they had a dog full of holes with blood coming from them sitting all around the quests... Have stopped at the Mels hotel for several years and to be honest we were not expecting 5* treatment, but over the years we have seen a steady and tragic decline in both the decor and the cleanliness of this hotel. Just returned and had a great holiday. If your expecting 5 star hotel then this is not the place to stay. on arrival reception staff were very moody and grumpy we got showed to out room and let in on walking into the room the smell was damp and musty floor was flithy covered in mud so when you took your shoes off you had dirt and anything else that was on the floor on your feet!!! where do i start... We expected after reading the reviews the worst, but we had a great week at the mels. The staff were friendly and helpful, the manager Ibrinhim is a nice guy, very helpful and polite.
