I read the numerous good reviews for this hotel, however, our stay was not that. The positives were; spacious room, good layout, good location. The negatives were; very dirty room ( urine on toilet seat), dust all over phone, stains on sheets, carpet was awful. It was probably an amazing hotel 30 years ago but had not been updated since. The room was musty and smelt like wet dog, the wardrobe couldn’t close leaving the light on, the bed head fell apart, the mattress was brown and uncomfortable. It was not pleasant to be in the room. I rang reception for towels 5 times, no answer. I went down and asked, they never arrived. The security guard was amazing, helpful and caring. The Reception area was lovely and breakfast was good. I wouldn’t stay there again.
A lovely older, clean hotel. Bit dated but clean with nice buffet breakfast and good staff. Few negatives: lobby/reception was freezing (esp after coming in from outside, and also in comparison to rooms). Nice pool- but weird set up with pool shower - being up stairs, away from pool area. No pool towels. Checking in took 15-20 min- with 5 staff there, most of whom didn’t seem to be doing anything. Nice buffet breakfast offering. Good location: can walk to Intramuros/Rizal park. Super Friendly security/door guy! Always, smiling- great personality.
I don’t have high expectations when I booked this hotel . Got this on a travel expo. Enticed by the fact it is operated by the renowned Manila Hotel . Better yet , I tried the executive suite. Location not that central. Near the LRT , but that is not relaxed travel when you think of vacation. Near a huge police station and a tertiary level hospital. Connected to a UN Square Mall that is in a struggling state. Few hundred meters away is a 7-11 convenience store. Beware walking around , it has become a pooping zone of wandering animals , dogs to be precise. Lobby was quite spacious. Liked the colourful wall decors and the old world chandeliers hanging around. Several areas are closed but I failed to ask what’s up? Outline of front desk was also worth noting , on a positive note. Executive suite was just ok. Liked the extra ante room bathroom , which has a bathtub. Spacious, but without any outside views to be proud of. Only 1 TV , none in the receiving area. The main comfort room has a whirlpool jacuzzi tub. Cool . But there was no slippers and mini fridge provided. Anyway, the suite was cold enough , but not as freezing in the main lobby, which is no big issue for me. What I noticed however, is that they have no Christmas themed decors so far when many hotels had theirs as early as the 2nd week of October. Leisure wise , they have a swimming pool , it was not heated however. One more thing , be wary of wet slippery floors since those who finished traverse the elevator path. No other options. Going back to the elevator, it was not key card accessible. So literally everyone can come up and down . Wifi was fast and doesn’t need a password. Breakfast buffet was decent , and filling enough. Don’t expect a deluxe hotel type of breakfast, you get what you pay for, which is fine with me. Anyway they have bacon and can cooked eggs to your liking even if there is no omelette station. Staff service are mostly ok. No complaint here. But the room inspection upon checking out can be tedious leading to long waits.…
Look out for great value deals. Spacious hotel in central location. All staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast included. Walking distance to attractions and to LRT transport network. Pool. I’ve booked a return visit.
Very bad receptionist name Jill!!! She even don't know how to talk with customer. Such a bad manner gives the hotels bad review you know. The history was when I'm check in as im VIP member Hotels.com they give me free upgrade room. But this receptionist name JILL directly said NO upgrade because no room available. She even didn't check the system yet and she directly said no upgrade! She said they didn't get the notice from hotels.com. ow come on I'm not first day use this app and get vip member. Then she tried to call the manager (maybe it's not manager) then they talk bla bla bla and after she said u can get in higher floor but twin bed. You know what the room is exactly the same but twin bed. My order was king bed. What a nice lie to customers Ms JILL!!! Then I got a free late check out also but she again refuse to gave it. Thank you Ms JILL for your very good service. You may get promotion after this to become manager or owner of this Manila Prince Hotel. Bye bye not stay anymore in this hotel though the hotel nice and I'm not first time stay here. But thanks to Ms JILL all is bye bye!…
Very nice and elegant, large and well furnished room and bathroom, nice swimming pool with towels available to customers. Not perfect maintenance and bad wifi in the rooms. Good breakfast, freezing air conditioning in the lobby.
Very elegant and cozy from the lobby to the room. Spacious and clean. Thanks Sir EJ for arranging our request without delay. Salute also to Ms. Emerald for maintaining our room tidy and giving us extra towel and coffee. We stayed here for 4D/3N with no regrets. We enjoyed the pool a lot and the breakfast was amazing. The guard is so kind and helpful (missed to ask his name). Thanks also Sir Daniel for taking care of our luggages while waiting for our vehicle. Even though he’s just on training (OJT), I can see his potential to become an asset to this hotel. Everything seems okay here except for not having slippers in the room. It’s so strange that a four star hotel can’t provide slippers to the guests. We didn’t bring some since we’re expecting to have here- especially that we’re a pool fanatic. But this doesn’t affect our overall stay here. Cheers to all and Stay Safe.…
Its been a long time since I've written a review but I will be completely honest about how I felt when I stayed there. So I booked this hotel when I was planning for a short break from my tight work schedule and at the same time I wanted to celebrate my birthday away from all the stress around me with a good friend of mine. I was considering at least 4 hotels around Luneta Park but the other three offered very disappointing inconsistent rates with only a few facilities. This hotel was one of my top options and I had to read through social media about it too. I had a hard time contacting them before my arrival as their phone number on both their website and social media pages isn't updated. That was the only thing I think was inconvenient for me. The hotel is very close and a few blocks away from LRT United Nations Station. You can just walk to save time. Now, upon check in, I was not able to give the security deposit because I tried to contact them to ask in advance about it but I can't reach them on their contact number. It wasn't posted anywhere on their website or social media pages either. I got there hoping the ATM machines around the block would work but in vain. I thought I would have a very frustrating stay. Then I heard this foreigner yelling at the hotel manager at the front desk because he isn't allowed to check in due to the fact that he kept refusing to wear a mask. The manager had been very patient and respectful with him while explaining the hotel policy and the mask mandate but he was being difficult the entire time. I wasn't able to finish checking in because I was worried about the security deposit so I had to walk out to find another ATM but still, everything around the block was not really working. When I came back, I saw the same manager and asked him if he was okay. He thanked me for my concern and unexpectedly helped me by not asking for the security deposit and completed my check-in. He told me it was a part of his job to deal with unruly guests and they strictly need follow the law on the mask mandate. As a part of a great line of luxury hotels, they want to strictly implement the health and safety protocols to all guests during this time as we are still in a pandemic. So, to all foreign tourists and guests planning to stay in any hotel in the Philippines, I would advise you to follow our local laws about the mask mandate. We locals follow them no matter what condition or status we are in. We are hospitable people but we do not tolerate anything or anybody who does not follow even a simple mask rule. That very rude foreign guest was yelling at the manager and was using the disability card while insulting everybody there just because he doesn't want to wear a mask. It was so humiliating. He was asked to wear them inside the hotel and he could take it off once he finished check in and when he is already inside his room. This guy refused and was very toxic. He was making a scene by telling the manager that it is illegal to force it on him. He was even threatening to call the police at the hotel. The manager was very respectful the whole time and was just doing his job to protect all the guests' health and safety at the hotel. When I got back from my ATM hunt, I was told that before he left, he took a photo of the manager and threatened him and the staff for refusing him to stay. I was glad and proud of this hotel for having a strong willed manager who can withstand threats like that. There were other foreign guests who were wearing masks and they didn't have any problems checking in because they simple followed the rules. So if you are new to our country and will whine about the mask mandates on our local hotels and businesses, then you need to act like an adult and accept it because you will definitely either be denied service or get kicked out. Don't make it hard for yourself. Just wear the mask in public places then take it off when you get in your room. Our immigration trusted you to follow our laws and rules when they welcomed your entry as a tourist so respect our laws and our locals. If you don't like it, then leave. Simple as that. Also, I have high respects for the law-abiding disabled people but if you are a rude self-centered disabled visitor of our country who shoves your disabled card just to break the rules, then expect a cold treatment. If you are disabled or claim to be disabled then you should have more precaution on the risks as you are more prone to getting the virus. So do not expect a good welcome if you will just be rude to the people who just wants to protect you. No wonder, he was rejected to all other hotels he had been to before coming to this hotel. Some people needs to really learn how to follow the rules and be respectful. Sorry, that was a long rant but I had to write it because he was threatening every frontdesk staff about writing a bad review so that was what I saw as a witness. Okay, back to the hotel review. The hotel lobby has a very 90s to early 2000s vibe. It is big and spacious, has a lot of sofas and the restaurant is connected to the lobby. The entrance to the swimming pool is also there. The manager was honest enough to tell me that the hotel was indeed reopened for multi-use on the first week of June this year. And since its still starting to operate again, they are currently short staffed and are working hard to accommodate everybody. I didn't have any issues with that because we are still in a middle of a pandemic and there were a lot of lay offs that happened worldwide. That was completely understandable. The manager and his front desk staff were really nice and kind. They are trying their best to boost the hotel again and its okay. So if you have an issue with short staff or limited hotel services, then I would not recommend you to stay here as they are still working on hiring more people to accommodate more guests. I support them for that. Everybody had a hard time during the last 2 years so that was really understandable. Another thing, since I never found any information about their security deposit online, then I will post it here. Their security deposit is Php1,000. Yes it is a deposit so it will only be refundable as long as you don't break any of the stuff inside the room. Their hotline on their website and social medias are currently Not Working so I suggest you email them in advance on the ones that are listed there as what the manager told me. He said since they just reopened, they are now working on their hotlines and it will be updated on their site soon. They provided me with a very nice room. The room furniture isn't the most modern one but it has a very classic vibe to it. Something I liked. The floor was carpeted. The hallways were also carpeted. They were truly concerned that I will have a bad impression on the furniture but I think the 90s vibe is okay. It doesn't really look outdated as long as its clean. There is the feeling of home when I entered the room. The Airconditioning is very good as well and its not like the modern inverter types too. Its a floor AC which was very dominant during the 80s to 90s. They said the owners are planning to revamp the rooms in the future and add new furniture. That will be a great improvement but I think they still need to prioritize getting more people then boost their sales. The bathrooms are clean and the bed was soft and warm. It has a bidet, a bathtub and a hot and cold shower. The TV had limited channels as expected. The window view is okay. Our room had a window view facing the east so say hello to the sun when you wake up late. The bedroom does not have a security safe so I suggest that you always bring your most important things with you. The receiving room has a hidden fridge and a closet with a shoe cabinet. Its a great room for me. The manager asked if I will have another guest coming and I told him that I was expecting my friend because the next day will be my birthday. He was happy and greeted me. He even gave a complimentary extended check out time from the normal 12 noon to 6pm the next day as he truly wanted us to celebrate my birthday. Now that is truly unexpected as I was willing to follow the hotel check out policy. I was happy for that and thanked him. Sleep quality was good and my friend arrived late that night after her shift. They took her details from the frontdesk. And before I forget, please don't forget to bring your vaccination cards or certificates upon check in just in case they ask it from you. My friend was truly happy with the room and didn't expected how cozy it was when she arrived. We were not able to use the swimming pool. The restaurant is open until 9pm so I went down for a coffee before it closed. There is no bar at the restaurant but there are other restaurants and fastfoods around the block if you want to eat something else. The next day was my birthday. My booking comes with free breakfast for 2 people so we were able to eat early. We toured Luneta park which was walking distance away from the hotel then came back 3 hours before check out. When we got back, the housekeeping finished their make up tasks and our room was clean again. Check out was very convenient and I was able to thank the manager for the complimentary service he gave me for my birthday. I never thought of receiving anything special during my stay there but it was great. My verdict: Except for the unreachable contact numbers on their hotel website and social medias, everything was great! I truly understand that they just reopened and they are doing baby steps since a lot of layoffs happened during the pandemic. I don't complain on the limited services and I appreciate their efforts to sanitize the entire place and are strict in protecting the health and safety of their guests. Its so rare to find a hotel management team like that. I've been to different hotels in some countries overseas and I can tell you straight out if they lack an element of "home". Some hotels are just there for the profits and are clearly insincere to their guests but this one is one of the rare ones who is not like that. It has that "home" element and vibe. I hope they maintain that even if they plan to revamp it in the future. If you ask me if I will return, yes I plan to not because the manager offered me a complimentary service but because I think this hotel has a lot of potential to grow more. They are situated and close to a very known landmark so I'm sure they will not waste that advantage easily. This hotel is for those who wants a homely and traditional stay. If you are too insensitive and complains easily I think this is not the right place for you. Don't make your life harder and check other hotels nearby if you have doubts staying here. This is best for those who just wants a homely stay without any drama. To end this, I want to sincerely thank the management especially the hotel manager and the other gentleman at the frontdesk for being kind to me during my entire stay. Like I said, I never expected anything special during my stay there but they made it extra special. And for that, I hope for the best to each one of you. Until we meet again. Maraming salamat.…
Not a good place to stay I recommend people from other countries not to travel or visit Philippines, during covid because they are going to give you positive results and keep you quarantine in their hotel and even u are not sick, feel like they just want to make money, they don't know how to feels like to be in quarantine in their facilities they make u more sick if you esp. If u are asymptomatic. To be in quarantine in facilities is not ok. Let people go in there on place and have a them quarantine. Not to keep them in hotel that lack of sanitation and food. So sick of this country so bad
This hotel is under management of a grander Manila Hotel. Rooms are large and modern, the servgice ipeccable, and breakfast is great. It also has a very good Chinese retsuaryrant. Curiously, it does not have the bar. I stayed two months until it closed due to covid. It is only about ten minutes walk form large SM shopping centre . Highly recommended
