This hotel has Japanese style rooms when you slipping on a floor and enjoying a hot public bath on the upper floor which is separate for men and women. But what is not expected that you actually have a bathroom with shower in your room for your own convenience, balcony that looks like a small separate room with paper doors...

Kaneyoshi is sandwiched between a host of restaurants and tiny grocers, so even your cab driver won't find it easily on their GPS system. Make sure to stick a photo of the property's sign on your mobile device, it'll help. The room is decorated in traditional style and you'll sleep on traditional futon that are stored along one wall. Some...

It was our first staying in a Ryokan and I was expecting a traditional Ryokan outfit. However, I would say this is a small hotel and they renovated the room to be a Ryokan setting. Having said that, this property is conveniently located in Osaka town (within 5 mins walking distance to the train station) and also a short walk...

It's a small Ryokan which is located at stones throw away from Dotonburi. The ryokan is clean, comfortable and just nice. Since it's old do not expect much fancy stuff, but it is quite comfortable. There is an onsen on top of the building and it's quite relaxing to go there for a hot bath. It's walkable from the train...

A dated but clean place situated in a quiet corner of a bustling shopping place. Price is very good compared to a typical ryokan, good for someone looking to experience a ryokan stay, and has a common bathing area. Staff is very prompt at cleaning up every day.

Our family just stayed there for 2 nights. This ryokan has the basic for your needs. My kid has fond memories in the tatami beds and the Japanese bath. Location is perfect to all the attractions. Staff were friendly.

The hotel is easy to find and the staff are welcoming and very informative. The stay was great - we could smell smoke in the non-smoking room in the morning but not ridiculously bad and it was something we got used to during our time in Japan. The room was very clean and comfortable, the location was great for getting...

Like many others on TripAdvisor my first impressions were that this hotel was a little dated. However, it really did grow on me. The room was massive and comfortable. The decor is dated but everything is very clean. The service was fantastic (on our last night, the man on the desk had printed out detailed information about how to get...

For a 2 star "hotel" rating, this quaint ryokan far exceeded my expectations. As with all the places I stayed while in Japan, this place was just as clean as the others. Service was outstanding. We had ample space for three of us staying with all of our luggage with room to spare. The bathroom was the largest we had...

This is a rather belated post about my best ryokan experience in Japan. I've recommended it more than a couple of times to other friends visiting Osaka and staying there always turns out great. One can't really be sure what to expect, judging by its facade and tiny hotel lobby but they don't really do justice to the spacious rooms...
