The Gracery in Kyoto Sanjo was a very plesant hotel, with unusually spacious rooms for Japanese conditions. The hotel was located on a crowded shopping street, which was not to be felt when staying inside the rooms. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful, which is a fact we cherished a lot. It was very much suited to explore the city for Kyoto newbies and hence we would definitely recommend it to other tourists as well. I didn't give it the full amount of points for the simply reason that it could have been somewhat more individualistic and special, but other than that all the other boxed were ticked for me! Fond memories!

I love this hotel - and I'm fussy! This was my fourth stay - and my hotel of choice for my next stay (subject to getting a competitive price). I can open the window and get some fresh air, ask and receive a room at the end of the corridor away from the elevator. It has all the ammenities I like: kettle, fridge, free daily bottled water, safe, and second door shutting off the entry door from the sleeping area. And it's in a great location.

As almost every hotel room in Japan is tiny, we didn’t expect much. Just a bit sad since we cannot arrange baby cot for our baby. The staff here is friendly and nice enough. Do not expect them to speak much English. Location very nice, it’s easy to go anywhere. There’s a 7/11 right in the first floor so you can buy basically anything you need. The food around hotel also interesting.

Stayed here in May 2018 with my boyfriend on our first visit to Japan and all I can say is wow! Fantastic location in a bustling part of Kyoto near to many places to eat and drink. The 7/11 at the bottom of this hotel is very handy. This hotel was exceptionally clean and secure. We stayed 4 nights here before moving on to another hotel nearer the train station (to enable many early morning day trips) I would not hesitate to stay here again, and indeed plan to in 2021 on our return to Japan. All round great place to stay.

Hotel is nice and central, right downtown in the shopping mall but a relatively short walk to Sanjo station for the Keihan electric railway which can take you to most attractions. The room was comfortable and relatively spacious for Japan. The breakfasts were great. I would recommend this hotel.
