The location near the city center was very good. I also liked the possibility to have coffee, tee , juices etc any time for free. The room was so silent, I loved it! The breakfast was basic, I just missed glutenfree bread because of my disease. There was also the spa in this hotel!
We chose this hotel because it has a family room big enough to accommodate 5 of us. Altho the subway Gojo is at the doorstep, we chose to walk 12-15 min daily to the Kyoto JR station. Front desk staff had very good service standards and speaks decent English. Free public bath and drink station from 2-11pm is a perk.
Not cheap, but not overpriced either. Rooms are big enough. Service is not stingy. The big cost of this property is the location. Absolutely fantastic for exploring the town on foot. Or by rental bicycle which are available nearby.
Stayed here for 4 nights during trip to Japan for the rugby. Only a few metres from metro station so quick journey into city centre/main station Didn't have breakfast but 7/11 store right next door. Easy walking distance to some great restaurants. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful reception. Our relatively expensive booked room was very small so we paid extra ( quite a lot!) for an upgrade to an executive room which was huge, very clean with plenty of bathroom amenities. But no free bottled water. Didn't use the public bath but my son was refused entry due to his tattoos ( very small). The f.o.c tea/coffee/soft drinks/water from 2pm to 11pm were most welcome. Would stay again if ever in Kyoto again but would book a superior/executive room if staying more than 1/2 nights.
An easy walk from Kyoto station with some good restaurants in the vicinity. Comfortable, well appointed and clean rooms. The public bath was really nice too. Friendly English speaking staff made it all very easy
We walked from the main railway station (walk past the tall tower and Starbucks and turn right at the next big interchange with MacDonalds on the corner) but it's only one metro stop. Our receptionist Jude spoke excellent English and was extremely helpful all week. Room was small (not unexpected) but had everything we needed including a fridge. Pillows were rock hard! Air con quiet and very effective. Breakfast was a good mix of local and international cuisine. One tip; they no longer provide the phones for guests to take out and use maps etc.
Location: Located in Gojo its just a stop away from Kyoto Station via the Karasuma subway line. Shijio and Gion is just a few stations away or if you are game, take a leisurely 30 minutes walk. Located in a quiet area, there is a 7-11 just next to the hotel. A short walk, you can have a Fresco (24 hours supermarket) and a 100 yen shop. Further down the road, Lawson and Yoshinoya. Front counter: Check in and check out was routine. Done within minutes. Courteous front counter staff who speaks basic english. Room: Stayed in superior twin room low floor. Room was overlooking the side alley. Room size was good despite an additional extra bed. Deco was very contemporary. Cleanliness was impeccable. The bathroom was spotless. Bathroom amenities were the usual and was replenished daily. The bed was just nice and very comfortable. We all slept like a baby! Linen was clean and crisp. Lighting was adequate. Wifi was fast and very reliable. An adapter that came with the room was an added surprised. Facilities: The best facility has to be the free onsen (public bath) and the free flow of welcome drinks. My family had a great time at the public bath. Kudos to the hotel! Vending machines are available on the 2nd floor and there is even a laundromat! Food: As with all our travels, we usually skip hotel breakfast and head to the stalls / restaurants around. Although its slightly away from the central Kyoto precinct, it a great hotel and we will definitely be back.... especially for the onsen!! Great experience!…
Stayed here for two nights. Location is great for exploring Kyoto and the various sights. Walking distance to subway and only 12 mins to Kyoto Station. Quite large room for Japan standards, good size bathroom and powerful shower. Toiletries provided in bathroom as well as a range of additional items at front desk. Bed comfortable- strange pillows hard at one end but soft at the other so you can arrange it to suit your needs. Breakfast was a great spread of really good fresh food. I was pleased to see the variety of fruit along with the typical Japanese foods. They also included European fayre such as bacon, sausage, eggs, danish type pastries. Found the staff to be really helpful.
It's one subway station away from the hub JR Kyoto Station. It's exit C from Gojo subway station with 3 mins walk to the hotel on your right. I find the location convenient while not that popular with noisy guests (as you always find in chain hotels near JR stations). We had a twin room on highest 9/F floor per our request overlooking the main street. Our room is eco friendly type which means there's no turnover or room cleaning for us. The room rate is better. As usual in Japan, the room is very tidy, well equipped (safe, slippers, pajama, toiletries, air purifier, kettle, shampoo conditioner bath gel), clean, cozy. But the pillow is not that good, too low. We tried the common bath which is rejuvenating although it's not onsen / spring water. The breakfast is pretty good and generous. Staff nice courteous and with some English. …
Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room average size though very well fitted and maintained. Good quality toiletries and a huge range of items from brushes to razors. Pillows are a little different! Welcome drinks available from 2pm - 11pm offering hot and cold drinks. Ice and vending machines available. Excellent breakfast with full range of western and Japanese food. Worth the 1600¥? Location so close to subway and main station an easy walk. Would happily stay here!
