Stayed there for 2 nights. Location It was on the shopping street, many restaurants nearby. Taxi & bus stations were nearby. I went there from Kyoto station by taxi after taking the Harkua from Kansai Airport. The taxi fares was just around 1200 yen for 4 adults with 3 big baggages. Front Desk Checked in fast. Kept the baggages for us before check in time. Although they spoke limited English, they tried their best to help ALL guests efficiently. They helped me to send one 30inches baggage from their hotel to my hotel in Kansai airport with Ta-q-bin under 1800yen. Breakfast I didn't try due to tradition Japanese breakfast but I found out the choices are limited. Anyway, we cannot except too much due to this is a basic business hotel. Room Clean as usual, nothing negative comment on it. Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, bath lotion, kettle were all inside the room. Laundry Machine I did use them before I left and it was very convenient for long time travelling guests and I can use the desktop computer at the lobby at the same time to check the travelling information. This is a good hotel for budget travellers but not for those who want to be served for all procedures.…
This hotel tailor mostly to budget local business and overseas leisure travelers. Most of the locations for this hotel chain are near by JR or subway stations. Price is affordable especially if you are one of the members. Breakfast offer every morning. Hotel rooms are clean and tidy. Service is good. Online booking is available and last minutes cancellation with no penalty at all. It is a trusted hotel brand if you cannot find another hotel at your destination and don't know which one to choose from, this is the one you should take.
Stay at Toyoko Inn is kind of a local experience for local Japanese. No matter Japanese people travel for business or leisure, they would enjoy stay at Toyoko Inn. Especially when I go down to the lobby for their free breakfast in the morning, full of hotel guests gather around the eating area for breakfast. A lot of budget tourists also like to stay in this hotel chain because their locations are also the closest to subway and JR train statio. Very convenient.
I was referred to this hotel by a Japanese friend who is a manager in the department store next door. In a real Japanese manner; it’s very clean very efficient with an only Japanese breakfast in the very utilitarian lobby. Front desk staff is very nice with very limited English basically there only to check you in and out. Check-out is at 10:00 AM, which is a popular checkout time in Japan, and I was called at 10:10 and told that if I am not out by 10:30 I will have to pay and penalty twice the amount of the original price. For a reasonable price with no expectations of services it’s a good place to stay for a couple of nights.
This is a japanese chain hotel available in many location across japan. Love the location as the are many eateries and shopping district within 10 minutes walking distance. There is bus stop and subway station within 5-10 minutes walking distance too. The room is a bit tiny even by japan standard. The little window is just for show as it is facing the wall of the next building and there is nothing to see. No in room mineral water provided and water dispenser located at the lobby is not allowed to fill water bottle. You may only take a few cups for immediately drinking only. Simple japanese breakfast provided with riceball, miso soup, some vege/pasta side dish and cabbage salad. Most room in Japan is smoke allowed which i dont like, and its quite hard to get a non-smoking room. however, the odor is acceptable for a smoking room and there is no smoke stain on all the furniture or bedsheet. guess customer's own behaviour is important as well to maintain a clean and nice room for other guest.…
While it has all the benefits of the Toyoko Inn chain, that is, inexpensive, quick check in and check out, free breakfast, free wifi, clean rooms, wonderful hot water, there was one small problem: I felt like we were sleeping on bricks. If you like to do penance, do stay there. Its one of the first in the chain they apparently have not changed the mattresses since it was built. The most uncomfortable stay I have ever experienced.
Stayed here after travelling from Osaka Toyoko Inn Outlet. The rooms are the same in design. Not very spacious but clean and neat. The bed are comfortable! For ladies, they even give you masks pack when you checked in. It's really a nice gesture. They provide free breakfast. However, the food for this hotel are all placed individually so if you need more, you will have to get the small plate or bowls again. Variety is not a lot, but I feel that they are really delicious. Staffs for this outlet does not speaks good English. So you got to be patience with them. They are willing to help you with a smile despite not speaking very good English.
It is an easy place to reach. Just need to walk for a few minute from trail way station or bus stop. Many shops and stores are around its location. It is convenient. However, their receptionists do not know English well. It is difficult to communicate. Their room arrangement / management is also poor which made me confused. My friends and I reserved two twin rooms for three nights, and the staff said my friend's room had to be shifted on the third night because someone had booked it. This was sounded weird, right? Why does someone who come later than us is in a preference and able to take our room which we have been living in? We still followed to do room shifting on the third day's morning and went for our trip then. Unfortunately they called us in the mid of trip and told us I was the one should be shifted, not my friend. We went back to the hotel immediately and explained that my friend had do shifting in the morning, and a new room has been confirmed to provide for her. Then asking why I do need to shift too that was never mentioned before. Finally I did not need to shift but needed to pay 1500 yen more. I think their room arrangement is really poor. It does not even make sense. Their callback upset us a lot and destroyed our trip. Their messy administration work also caused us money loss. We compromise to pay for the settle because we don't want any more trouble and wasting our time although we do not want to do so indeed. In general, its room size is reasonable. Shampoo, rinse and body wash are provided. Tooth paste and brush are also provided. Same kind of japanese breakfast buffet is provided everyday. There is not much food choice indeed, so please don't put much expectation to it. Still, food is tasted good, especially the rice balls.…
The hotel has what most travellers have come to expect in a good hotel, that is, clean, everything works in the room, front desk staff are very efficient and the location was great! The subway/bus stops are about 2 min walk away which make travel to places like Uji, Arashiyama, Kobe, Ohara, etc. are within easy reach. Great food was literally a stone throw away and shopping was everywhere we turned. The only thing that may need a slight improvement is the breakfast. A change in the daily food selection would help.
I was about to book a hotel close to the central station of Kyoto but last minute i changed my mind and booked this hotel. It was the best decision that made the trip easy and enjoyable. The hotel is located in one of the central streets Shijo dori which is very beautiful and atmospheric at night, has all the shops around. It has a metro station nearby, train, and multiple buses going infront of the hotel, all these make most of the sights approachable. Nishiki market, imperial palace, Kawaramachi disctrict, all approachable even by feet. The staff was frinedly, the hotel clean, the breakfast very bad but there are several cafes around to make up for it. Free wateer was also offered. I would recommend this hotel to travellers
