Very good facilities, buffet breakfast with a large selection of Western & Japanese dishes. Located 5 minutes from the station. Go down to the B1 floor & you get a large food court to select your preferred choice of cuisine. Laundry charges were a little overpriced however.

Keihan's location is very strategic especially if you are arriving at night. The airport limousine bus stop is right at their doorstep so you will not be lost at all. Regarding their front desk, they have very accommodating reception people who speaks good English. Though the hotel is not new and maybe needs some recarpeting, the hotel is generally clean....

This hotel is very close to the train station and the bus terminal, where in addition to transportation you can find shopping malls and restaurants. The decoration of the room was chic and modern, the only part that felt a bit outdated was the bathroom. There was plenty of power outlets, including next to the bed, wich is great to...

Booked through a third party online booking site. No issues with checking in even if we arrived very late. They have walking maps available and staff has decent English skills. We took the airport limo bus from KIX and as stated in some of the reviews here, the station is literally right in front of the hotel so we had...

2 of us stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in a "single room for 2 people" ...apparently something was happening in Japan, it was a very busy time and I was not able to get any other hotel close to the station except this one and only this room was available. The room was very small so I do...

I stayed in a single room for one night after arriving in Kyoto. Having done some sightseeing in the morning using an English map provided at Kyoto station, I thought I would collect my bags and check in. Beware - the hotel was listed on the map which I thought was very handy as my phone had gone flat and...

Overall a rather decent hotel and appears to be popular with Japanese tourists. Location wise it is very convenient as it is located across from Kyoto Station with access to JR lines and the local metro (via an underpass) and right next door to a mall (Avanti). For those using the Google Maps app on their phones, beware that the...

Not much to complain about but not much to rave about either. The hotel is easy to locate but trying to check-in/check-out/ask the reception questions takes quite a while as there seems to always be a long queue. Room is quiet and clean.

Located across the street from the main train and bus station along with many shops and restaurant, it is easy to find. Not too many attractions, but the subway is a few minutes walk from the hotel. Room was a triple with very limited space. Wifi is on and off. Skip the restaurants in the hotel, very overpriced, and get...

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
